JibMcdo Posted 25 January, 2010 Share Posted 25 January, 2010 How many of these do we need? And if you pick Pompey over Playoffs you've a screw loose, imo.
Window Cleaner Posted 25 January, 2010 Share Posted 25 January, 2010 the play-offs are pretty improbable anyway, beating the skates and winning the JPT would be reasonable solace-for this season.
SNSUN Posted 25 January, 2010 Share Posted 25 January, 2010 Yay, another "choose or die" thread. If it were a definite choice of winning the play-offs or Pompey, then promotion for me, we can beat the Skates next season.
krissyboy31 Posted 25 January, 2010 Share Posted 25 January, 2010 I would take the play-offs................................Then doing the double over them in the Championship next season.

notnowcato Posted 25 January, 2010 Share Posted 25 January, 2010 Play offs. No doubt. I'd accept a five nil drubbing from the few if it meant we were guaranteed a play off position.
Block 5 Posted 25 January, 2010 Share Posted 25 January, 2010 Struggling with the rhetorical nature of the thread are we? Indeed. And all the other threads getting me to choose one thing or the other. Why have these things all got to be mutually exclusive? I should start a new thread, we could have a poll..... "Do you want to beat the fish fiddlers AND win the JPT AND get to the play offs? YES or NO". By the way, the question you pose is not a rhetorical one. I'd prefer you to buy me a beer rather than a cider, but that doesn't suggest there's anything to stop you buying either, both, or even a snakebite. sussexsaint Posted 25 January, 2010 Share Posted 25 January, 2010 I know everyone wants us to go up this year, and so do I. However provided we can keep all our players it would be nice to have a season where we actually for once 'walk the league' - TBF Playoffs are going to be a streatch if you look at the points and the teams above us. JPT would be a great day out for the players and the fans and be a massive thank you to ML Skates would mean more to most of us as fans than the players or owners. SaintRichmond Posted 25 January, 2010 Share Posted 25 January, 2010 In all the excitement over the draw I wondered where a game against our fishy rivals comes in people's priorities? alpine_saint Posted 25 January, 2010 Share Posted 25 January, 2010 Playoffs. Getting the club back to the top is a million times more important than a local p*ssing contest.

doughnutman Posted 25 January, 2010 Share Posted 25 January, 2010 Play offs without a doubt. That way we'll meet them next season in the championship and be able to kick their arses both home and away. Simples.

Um Bongo Posted 25 January, 2010 Share Posted 25 January, 2010 Beating Pompey. We might lose in the play off final or something.
brightspark Posted 25 January, 2010 Share Posted 25 January, 2010 Beating Skatesmuff. If we get in the play offs we will have to beat two very good teams to actually gain promotion. Anyway, as long as the players are committed to the cause, and they all stick around next season, we should actually "walk this league". I think it would do the club good to have another season of feel good factor, winning games most weeks. THEN we can go into the Championship super confident of doing a Leicester and challenging for the play offs in 2012.

Andyb1 Posted 25 January, 2010 Share Posted 25 January, 2010 playoffs defo. Be interesting to see what the geographical split is for the varying opinions on this. I for example am not from Southampton (from Oxford) and tend to dislike Swindon jsut as much if not more than Pompy. I would also prefer us to get to the playoffs. Not saying i don't REALLY want us to win both..
