Oh gosh...lets go back to sacking the manager every couple of weeks. Forget the 5 year plan, lets just apease all the sissy fans, who want a win every match, because, lets face it, we are the mighty Saints, and every team should just roll over and let us win......whingers, you bet!!!!

Nobody is saying sack the manager.

But this is a team that is lagging.

no one wants him sacked, but i think there are a few concerns about the direction we are heading atm. (as a team, not a club)

we have an enormous squad and it seems that he doesn't know his best team. Jaidi and Harding just randomly dropped from the 11 isn't helping things IMO. (i don't think they're injured)

I'll be judging him from next year though, if we're not in with a shout of the top 2 - he'll be gone.

Do they not...read the other thread, see what Glasgow Saint and Alpine Saint think................Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, it makes me bloody puke, to think, a few short months ago, we were in danger of folding.

Why do you think he is playing Mills and Seaborne over Harding and Jaidi? There is no way he is under pressure this season from the board, this season is all about building for next season. If we get a bonus cup win and FA Cup run then fantastic. After this season the squad will really start to gel and everyone will get to know each other inside out and these leads slipping will not happen. I for one will be watching with interest on how Pardew experiments and how the team plays for the rest of this season, rather than expecting win after win like others.

Happy? of course, hungry for success most definetely

But just adult enough to realise it`s not fulfilled in an instant.

I expect more than draws against teams who played in L2 last season when we have taken the lead having been the 10th top spenders in the previous transfer window

rome wasnt built in a day,its a five year plan for a reason.people on here need to be a bit more patient,it will come good next season, coyr

Nor was Rome built in 5 years, more centuries. And it looks like Pardew has the same time frame. We have seen enough of Pardew to judge all his good points and bad and his previous history matches up pretty well. He has no idea how to solve the problem and by allowing him all these quality new players just confuses the **** out of him. Well at least I can enjoy the cup games now. When will Pardew figure out what to do with the midfield? answers on a postcard to the nearset job centre please.

The problem i have is that with all the new signings we have options in every position, how long before AP has some idea of his best XI?

I remember some quotes from Charlton fans saying how they needed a striker, so AP went out and bout 3 and then just chopped them all around.

I think the jury is still out on Pardew tactically

It's hilarious how some simple folk think they know more than AP.

How can people who are sat at a computer spout off about tactics without being:

a) at the game, and

b) involved in the game as a professional, with years of experience playing and managing at the highest level?

[rant]So the 11 players that are out on the pitch can continuously avoid blame, as soon as we drop points it is instantly the managers fault? I'm sorry, but that isn't right. Any people who think that Pardew should be sacked now is seriously deluded as well, if that is the case.

Why, after every single match in which we drop points, do we have this massive "PARDEW OUT" versus "WE'RE LUCKY TO HAVE A CLUB" debate. It's verging on ridiculous. I genuinely believe there are certain members of this forum who love it when we **** up, as they just love being negative, they love having a moan.

It's time for some realism, we're not going to win every game, and why not try and get behind the team when we don't.

This isn't aimed at anyone in particular, but it is so annoying and tiresome.[/rant]

Overall AP is doing a first class rebuilding job and should be given time to do so........just because Saints don't easily scoop up 3 points every week some dreamers on here expect the manager to be under pressure..........luckily I doubt the owner thinks in such short termism

Jaidi and Harding were not randomly dropped. Don't you have any memory. Jaidi had an eye injury and missed some games, Harding was also injured, and was replaced by Mills who did a great job. There was no way Jaidi was going to play today, at the age of 34 he is not fit enough to play 3 times in 8 days, and as Seaborne and Fonte are cup tied for one or both of the cup games Jaidi was needed for both of them.

There is some real crap being posted on here today. The only thing certain after today is that the play-offs are now gone. If we had won today and other results had gone for us then the play-offs were a distnt but still achievable target. Now they aren't. Simples. The reason for this is that we simply did not get it together quickly enough this season, our first 10 games were very poor, and on top of the 10 point deduction we have not receovered. Since then our form has been and remains good enough for Top 3, but you can't hide from the start of the season problems.

We need to also acknowledge that we are missing 2 important players, Hammond and Connolly. Connolly was always a gamble, but he proved to be an absolute gem, but its becoming clear that we may not see him again much. Losing your captain is also a massive blow, and his injury seems to be worse than originally expected.

Still, looking forward to Tuesday and getting to Wembley, confident that we will do it. Maybe now I care a little more about the Pompey game, because I want to see us carry on unbeaten and increase our confidence, we need to end the season on a high even if the play-offs are now a dream.

I love how when we win, the forum is full of threads praising AP's tactics, saying how awesome the players are.

Yet, when we lose, its how crap his tactics are, how sh1te the players are, how he's gotta turn things around in one nanosecond.

To the vast majority here, theres no grey areas. AP's either God, or RL in a mask it seems.

Genuine hysterics in both directions!

I wonder what the fans in general would think of the powers at be at SFC if they moved pardew on in the summer..?

it wont happen

Exactly. Knee jerk managerial replacements are part of the reason we are in our current position.

Although a few posters on this forum would be dancing in the streets and waving their "I was right" flags if AP was replaced.

I honestly don't think he will.

Interesting to see Neil Danns scored another well taken goal to help Palace to 3 more points today.

Almost from day 1 a lot of people myself included have been calling for the midfield to get sorted. We have brought in a hell of a lot of players and still don't seem to have our midfield sorted. The midfield is going to be his downfall more than anything. my hope is that once the cup games are finished we can get our teamrunning smoothly and we can see some improvement. Something that we have not seen for a couple of months. If anything we seem to have gone backwards but what do I know.

Completely irrelevant, Danns did not want to drop a division and come to us. What's the point of bringing that up? I also see Wayne Rooney scored today, perhaps we should have bought him. In fact, why didn't we? Pardew out.

You highlight a throwaway line but have nothing to say about the more relevant part of the post. A lot of people who go to games have been querying some of AP's selection decisions for a long time. Not just recently. These same people have also frequently queried his substitutions. that doesn't necessarily mean they/we necessarily want him out tout sweet. Any more than Utd supporters who query a decision of Fergies at times.

Why include the throwaway line then?

I actually agree with what you put about the midfield - As someone who has only missed 5 league games this year, I know what you are on about. Some of his subs have been odd to say the least, and our midfield often does not fire on all cylinders every match. Fair point.

And for the record, the bit about 'Pardew out' was sarcasm. I like Pardew.

Maybe you should have been there. if you were I think you would be having a whinge.

After going to Brentford and seeing our woeful 2nd half performance and todays shocking last 45 minutes when Exeter ran us ragged I have got to say for the first time this season I am starting to doubt AP really knows what he is doing.

Heard from a mate the last couple of away performances have been as bad as Swindon away.....worrying

Overall of course promotion would have been the main aim and now that looks unlikely, but looking on the bright side we are drawing games that we'd have lost last season and next season we will win games that we've drawn this season

The squad is excellent and the only negative that still baffles me was picking Seabourne over Ward..

Anyway bring on this week and lets get two wins so we have something to show for the rejuvenation this season!
