St Chalet Posted 13 February, 2010 Share Posted 13 February, 2010 At the start of the game a Saints fan did his impression of W******d, dressed in big blue hat, 'Pay up Pompey' T-shirt, Monkey face and miniture bell. One of the funniest things I have seen in a long while. Was great until some idiots started pelting him with coins form behind, I am sure not knowing he was taking the ****. The objects hit other fans in front. Even if it was a Pompey fan throwing objects into a group of people is mindless arsehole behaviour.
explorer saint Posted 13 February, 2010 Share Posted 13 February, 2010 Yep saw that but bit of a dumb thing to do with his 2 foot blue and white hat on amongst the home fans! Good idea but not thought out enough
sotonjoe Posted 13 February, 2010 Share Posted 13 February, 2010 Everybody genuinely thought he was a skate. It was a stupid thing to do.
St Chalet Posted 13 February, 2010 Author Share Posted 13 February, 2010 Everybody genuinely thought he was a skate. It was a stupid thing to do. Pelting missiles is a more stupid thing to do. If he was a skate the stewards would have thrown him out. Simples.
sotonjoe Posted 13 February, 2010 Share Posted 13 February, 2010 Pelting missiles is a more stupid thing to do. If he was a skate the stewards would have thrown him out. Simples. I'm not debating the throwing of "missiles", although I didn't see any of that from block 32. The guy was asking for trouble though and should possibly have been thrown out anyway for what was an ill-judged 'joke'. I'm not sure how on earth he thought it could be 'funny'. The majority of the crowd had no idea it was a funny saints fan, the word was that it was a pompey fan, hence the reaction.
Tractor_Saint Posted 13 February, 2010 Share Posted 13 February, 2010 Saw it - suggest you ask the guy who dressed up for the joke whether he thinks it was still a good idea. Probably was a great idea down the pub the night before but with the fired up atmosphere of the day it was probably going to backfire!
Saint Keith Posted 13 February, 2010 Share Posted 13 February, 2010 i was in block 33 , it was a few rows in front of me. tbh, the **** was very lucky he didnt get his head kicked in before it became clear he was a saints fan

St Chalet Posted 13 February, 2010 Author Share Posted 13 February, 2010 +1. people behind me wanted to pull him out and do just that. They demonstrated this bravery by pelting those around him from the safety of their seats..... Agreed maybe not everyone could see it was a joke. Torbay Saint Posted 13 February, 2010 Share Posted 13 February, 2010 I saw the guy in the outfit as well the trouble. I first thought that there must have been a pompey fan infront of the guy in the outfit as it wasn't that realistic - it was obvious it wasn't W******d! Yes, it was not very well thought out but coining people is really stupid. The coins were thrown all over the place in Block 33 and hurt a lot of innocent people. SNSUN Posted 14 February, 2010 Share Posted 14 February, 2010 Anyone see the gimp dressed from hair to toe in red lycra, he even had a pair of black raybans over the face, looked really funny? Anyone get a pic? He was stood in front of me in the Kingsland at half time. Anything to get on TV! I didn't see any trouble in the Kingsland, but then I was in row "A" so didn't really have much of a viewpoint.

SNSUN Posted 14 February, 2010 Share Posted 14 February, 2010 No, I was about three to the left of that guy I think, and I'm much younger! Seat 800 was me. The camera was a pain in the arse though, restricted view of the action, although most of that was the Pompey goals, so ITV actually did me a bit of a favour... aintforever Posted 14 February, 2010 Share Posted 14 February, 2010 There was a guy who dressed up as a Saints version of W******d for the away game a few years back. Looked funny, had a large inflatable fish stuck on the top of his hat. The really funny thing was that by the time the train pulled into fratton he had completely **** himself, covered himself up with a big coat and gave the fish to his girlfriend. Even his missus looked embarrased! So it can't have been her idea! It wasn't his missus as he is only 16 - I did try and tell him but he wanted to get on TV. He is the son of a golfing mate of mine.
