Window Cleaner Posted 16 February, 2010 Share Posted 16 February, 2010 Definitely. Would tear up league one. we said that about a lot of our players when we got relegated to the Championship, think we said it about Saga in League 1 as well. ottery st mary Posted 16 February, 2010 Share Posted 16 February, 2010 Puncheon plays for Saints... Koumas does not really play for anyone...10/12 games in last two years...Injury/attitude...Nearly 31..Like some players past his sell by date.. Only ever played to his true potential once every now and again..even at WBA.. Very high wages.... Mind you he will not happen anyway.. IMO still think on current playing time Puncheon is a better bet for us...Not only very good but a worker..
Arizona Posted 16 February, 2010 Share Posted 16 February, 2010 we said that about a lot of our players when we got relegated to the Championship, think we said it about Saga in League 1 as well. TBF a lot of them could have done given better circumnstances. Killer, Pahars, Oakley and Prutton all had injury problems. Lundekvam and Higgy were good. Of the Prem survivors only Niemi and Ormerod were particularly disappointing for me. Saga might have been good, but he barely played in L1 so we can't really say. Can't see Koumas coming here. hasper57saint Posted 16 February, 2010 Share Posted 16 February, 2010 My 'Baggies' mate says 'Don't touch him with a barge pole. Too lazy to catch a cold!Always injured and 'whinges' like hell all the time.
SuperMikey Posted 16 February, 2010 Share Posted 16 February, 2010 Quality player but lacks a good work ethic and has a touch of the Pulis's about him with regards to injuries. With Hammond back I think our midfield is fine now thanks.
oxfordshire_saint Posted 16 February, 2010 Share Posted 16 February, 2010 Koumas has a massive ego, that alone would prevent him from dropping down to this level. He's a luxury player and anyhow, you couldn't play him wide because he's lazy and got no pace, so it means sacrificing a striker or central midfielder. Whereas our own luxury player, Lallana, does have pace. Wouldn't want him and it wouldn't happen anyway.
Hopkins Posted 16 February, 2010 Share Posted 16 February, 2010 Won't happen. Way too good for a league 1 side. Close thread.

I would be very surprised at that. He is not played much, getting old and we should be aiming higher anyway.
SNSUN Posted 16 February, 2010 Share Posted 16 February, 2010 I would be very surprised at that. He is not played much, getting old and we should be aiming higher anyway. I'm not so sure. All the teams at the bottom will start panicking before long, and this guy has Premiership experience. A Phil Brown or Brian Laws could see him as ideal cover. Either way, I don't think we need any loan signings. I hope we use the squad we have until the summer.

To clump James in the same level as Wotton is very unfair, he's having a great season for someone so young. Puncheon and Lallana can also play there if needed. The9 Posted 16 February, 2010 Share Posted 16 February, 2010 Decent enough player - But wondering where we could realistically fit him in ! 5 years ago he was too good for the CCC and not good enough for the Prem. Very skilful but a little bit too ponderous on the ball. So League One might be a level he'd excel at (though I'm not sure how he's fared since 2005). He's also exactly the kind of attacking midfielder we need, someone who can play a decent throughball - and he can also hit a shot or break through the back line. Seems to have sorted his one-time dodgy attitude out as well.
SNSUN Posted 17 February, 2010 Share Posted 17 February, 2010 Prem teams don't have the benefit of the "emergency" loan window do they? Yeah I realised that after I'd posted it!
