SaintRichmond Posted 22 February, 2010 Share Posted 22 February, 2010 I "booked" my 2 tickets this am, aprox 9.30 Not quite that straight forward though I wanted Block 227 I was told that seats would be allocated, and I could end up with seats anyware between Blocks 227 and 231 - from the centre line back to the goal line I am NOT impressed. Why cannot you Book the seats you WANT ??? Bit like asking for Kingsland and getting a seat in the away area Doesn't make sense, especially in this computer age:D:)
damers Posted 22 February, 2010 Share Posted 22 February, 2010 Also the guy I spoke said, let me just make sure I get your 6 seats together and then spent time booking them together so the must be allocating seating straight away, I guess it just saves some time, Anyway, Were all going to Wembley!! The booking guy I spoke to did not say that. He indicated that he could not even state my PREFERRED Block when my booking was forwarded OK, I'm going to Wembley, but it did not seem like a TRUE "Booking" service Until I get my tickets circa 16th March, I will NOT know where I am sitting I simply :cool:think that is a poor service. Don't really give a f*** what anyone else charges - it is pretty steep - would you not agree ? Especially when you consider most of us would have been pretty happy to queue and purchase in person - that would have kept the box office team busy ! SnailOB Posted 22 February, 2010 Share Posted 22 February, 2010 Think you'll find that it's a Wembley imposed booking fee and nothing to do with the participating clubs. Doesn't Carlisle link (that someone else pointed to) show concessions for booking fee ? Still disappointing. Trying to book 34 tickets for a group of us that go up with our kids to St Marys - ideally all together in particular area. Still trying to get through whilst reading forum - reading the comments that its going to end up costing an extra £100 + for this booking just 'smarts' a bit ! JRM Posted 22 February, 2010 Share Posted 22 February, 2010 Think you'll find that it's a Wembley imposed booking fee and nothing to do with the participating clubs. wrong. Carlisle put tickets on sale they were available on the phone, online, or in person at the ticket office. Tickets purchased over the counter at the ticket office have no booking fee, info passed to me by a carlisle contact who had just been down there to buy them last week

Depressed of Shirley Posted 22 February, 2010 Share Posted 22 February, 2010 wrong. Carlisle put tickets on sale they were available on the phone, online, or in person at the ticket office. Tickets purchased over the counter at the ticket office have no booking fee, info passed to me by a carlisle contact who had just been down there to buy them last week I think this is the same at St. Mary's, i.e. book in person at the ground, no booking fee. The booking charge is standard for Wembley games, concerts etc, and I would guess this comes from Wembley itself.

Window Cleaner Posted 22 February, 2010 Share Posted 22 February, 2010 I personally think we should try to get knocked out in the first round of every competition we play, then there will be no moaning about ticket allocation schemes, difficulty in bookings, not getting your very own seat or booking fees. ;);););)

The9 Posted 22 February, 2010 Share Posted 22 February, 2010 Judging by the other thread the main problem with using the online system is that people haven't got their accounts set up properly, and the main problem with phone booking is that you get charged £3 PER TICKET not £3 per booking. Do you think the 6 or so people at the Box Office will be able to cope with the demand to sell 44,000 tickets in such a short space of time? Bearing in mind we have an away game tommorow and home on Saturday as well. It doesn't offend me... I think the club have every right to charge people for telephone bookings... there is a perfectly good online booking system, as I said, I booked 30 in about 5 minutes this morning. Simples. Jimmy Gabriel's Halo Posted 22 February, 2010 Share Posted 22 February, 2010 Well I've just got mine by phone. Had to wait a few minutes in the phone queue but got there eventually. And, oh boy, am I DELIGHTED. £44 seat near the half way line. In '76 and '79 I was an impoverished student living in Sheffield so I missed those finals. After the FA Cup win I couldn't even afford a pint to celebrate the victory. No student loans in those days and only a limited grant (for me anyway). The ZDS final somehow passed me by - too busy forging a career in London. The 2003 Cardiff final I couldn't get a ticket as I was not a ST holder. So I REALLY don't give sh*t where I am sitting because I'M BL**DY WELL GOING TO WEMBLEY TO SEE THE SAINTS WIN (hopefully !!). CHESHIRE CATS HAVE NOTHING ON ME RIGHT NOW......;-) x 10,000..!! EDIT; nah it's OK, it was working. Was sat there for 10 minutes before being disconnected. Thank god for that. *rolleyesthingy* I had that too - three times before finally getting through. So frustrating. Wouldn't mind being on hold if they had one of those "you are now number 23 in the queue" systems that other big organisations have, but being cut off after 10 minutes is very irritating. BTW, did anybody else get through during the period when the card payment system wasn't working properly? 20 minutes waiting for the payment to be accepted! The poor girl at the other end of the line was at her wits' end, the poor thing. All you could hear was other operators in the background saying the same thing "Oh no, payment failed". Just don't think the system could cope...
