Oh FFS, they f u c k the pitch up for us!!!

Only if we're planning on playing the JPT Final at White Hart Lane.

The FA Cup Semis are at Wembley the week after we're there, bit early this year due to the World Cup.

...Which is in South Africa, in case you think that might mess the pitch up for us too ? :D

I was just wondering if any fans going up to London to stay the night before Paint pot trophy are going to take in an extra game at WHL on the Saturday?:smt077

Why any Southampton fan would want to go and watch either of those sides unless we were playing them is a mystery. Even if you did you're very unlikely to get a ticket as WHL is always sold out to home fans and, as hard as it is to believe, even the blue-few could surely find a couple of thousand for such a close important fixture. There's also the 'King 'Arry/Judas' (depending how they feel that day) factor.

So, in short, no.

What I would like to know, is why P*mp*y haven't received the -9 yet ??

Is it due to them appealing ??

No, it's due to the Premier League holding fire on their meeting to agree to the deduction.

That is because Chainrai was the one who put the Skates into Admin as a creditor, but he is also owner.

Until the issue is clarified about the legitimacy of this process, the PL have decided not to have the points deduction meeting. There is also a question whether the Skates' administrator is independent, having allegedly worked for Chainrai recently, which might also result in a change of administrator. There can be 3 main outcomes to the issues raised by HMRC :

1) Chainrai's position as a creditor and therefore able to put the club into admin is accepted, the PL meeting then goes ahead as they are in admin, whoever is the administrator.

2) Chainrai's position as a creditor is not accepted, so the administration he placed the Skates in is therefore illegitimate - then

a) The High court winds them up as they nearly did in Feb, and the PL is forced to expunge their results from the PL table

b) The High Court chooses not to wind them up but appoints an independent administrator, PL has their -9 meeting.

3) The administrator is deemed not independent, so the High Court appoints a new independent administrator, PL has their -9 meeting.

Why the Premier League didn't make "you're in admin, -9 deduction" a de facto deduction instead of having to have a discussion to ok it when it is clearly stated in their rules, God knows.

How about all the Saints fans meeting at Covent Garden for a nice reunion on Saturday around midday - or maybe around 17.30?

I seem to remember a little incident in the smoke after a cup game in London in the 1980's atthe afore mentioned location...don't think the Metropolitan Police will have thought of both sides being in the capital on the same day as the matches are virtually 24-hours apart...except....I know plenty going up the day before because of travel problems.

I wouldn't go to that match if it was the last ever game of football - but I always like a skinny latte in Covent Garden!

Good job it's not Billings Gate - or else we would have to make it a Skate free zone!

it was 1990 Jan - 3rd round FA Cup day, Saints had 7000 at White Hart Lane for our 3-1 win to knock out spurs.

the skates had a similar number up that day playing Crystal Palace i think

and the events at Covent Garden made the national press

I remember all that - the Met didn't know what hit them!

By all accounts nor did the Skates...I think we won on both counts!

Why do they get -9 and we got -10? Sorry if thats already been answered elsewhere.

Simple :)

For a start it is a punishment by two DIFFERENT governing bodies i.e. Premiership and Football League each have their own rules. Note the FA are not involved! So many confuse the FA, FL and PL.

Also...

Premiership has 38 games

Football League has 46 games

9 points in 38 games is actually a marginally harsher punishment than 10 points in 46 games.

- 9 point out of 38 games means you can only get 92.2% of the total

- 10 points out of 46 games means you can get 92.7% of the total
