SFC's position in two months time (prediction)

Having signed no-one in August there will be a mass suicide amongst the fanbase. Attendances will plummet to 6k average.

League position will no longer be relevant due to League 1 being suspended as a result of this tragedy. Saints are awarded promotion as a sympathetic gesture and the whole league renames itself as 'The Saints Trust' in honour of our martyred dead.

The police ban everyone in the Northam and Itchen North for persist standing and abusive chanting directed at them.

AP calls for calm as Saints fail to win at least one more game between now and October and the fans call him tactically inept and no longer the man for the job

RL sustains a minor knock and has to come off for 20 minutes of the home game against Bournemouth, his loanee cover player makes his debut and doesn't score a hatrick with his first three touches leading the fans to declare him as not the answer and a poor signing.

Our new wonder signing from Italy, who everyone declared as the new Pele on his arrival despite having never heard of him, doesn't perform at 10/10 in every game, and average a goal a game with 9 assists a game and everyone slates him as not being the answer and bad business

Depsite strengthening our defence, midfield and attack during the last week of the window, certain posters claim that our squad is weaker than when we finished 8th the PL and we have no ambitions to be promoted

On the basis of Colinjb's astute prediction, very few of us will be posting on here by November, and I'd better go off and put my affairs in order....but hell, its only football..

My prediction, mid October, mid-table, not looking like promotion favourites, having played 12, won 4, drawn 4, lost 4. No permanent signings were acheived but two loan signings proving cover for CMF and wide MF. Starting 11 not changed but a lot being said about how things will improve when Richardson is fit. Alex O-C doing OK as sub, but rarely starting. Playing 4-5-1 with Barnard and Connolly mainly used as subs. Pardew explaining that we should have won a lot more games because we are playing well and there are a lot of positives to take from the performances. Cortese determined on promotion, preparing behind the scenes for a managerial change ahead of the January window.

Pardew becomes catatonic after a waking dream in which he imagines the fabled 'Plan C'.

The club looks to the internet to name his stand in, and Chris Marsden is brought in to steady the ship, the fans base this on him having the nickname of 'football genius'

However, despite being on course to achive promotion as champions, there is widespread unrest due to the quality of matchday service.

As a result, all football topics are banned, and the saintsweb forum becomes an endless loop of 'How was the beer', 'queues in the northam' and 'where are these posters now' topics.

As a result of the press boycott and lack of forum posts, the official site becomes the only outlet for news, and crashes under the demand.

Therfore no-one knows which position we are in the league, only that Puncheon was not very good against whatever opposition we were playing.

Worryingly this feels very plausible

Sounds about right.

Probabbly about 6th - motoring along steadily but paying for our slow start. The usual suspects on here will be calling for Pardew's head after a home draw against third place Oldham. The refrain 'same old excuses' is thrown against Pardew's ascertation that we would have won it if we hadn't had 4 perfectly good goals disallowed, 8 exceedly dubious penalties awarded against us and been down to 8 men from the five minute mark.
