Kingsland Red Posted 11 January, 2011 Share Posted 11 January, 2011 Any thoughts Mr Holloway ? What a response to, erm, trying to win a cup game, silly old Saints !
Mowgli Posted 11 January, 2011 Share Posted 11 January, 2011 Errrr. ....bit premature. Blackpool play tomorrow. If they get a result he will consider himself vindicated. He could not give a toss about us today - we rested players too so we are hardly in a position to criticsie too much but.... Personally I think it is OK to field a weakened side so long as you have the objective of winning the game. I don't believe, given the team selection he made on Saturday, that he really believed they could win. So on that basis he has cheated his own fans who paid good money to come down - the Blackpool fans deserve a better manager than this.
Smirking_Saint Posted 11 January, 2011 Share Posted 11 January, 2011 Thing is, correct me if i am wrong but wasn't the whole 'premier league your having a laugh' chant in response to 'premier league and you f*cked it up' ??
Miltonaggro Posted 11 January, 2011 Share Posted 11 January, 2011 All being well I look forward to playing Blackpool next season, and a rousing chorus of 'Championship you're having a laugh' Respect due...
Saintandy666 Posted 11 January, 2011 Share Posted 11 January, 2011 The cup is a distraction.
Redondo Saint Posted 11 January, 2011 Share Posted 11 January, 2011 I think he is more interested in preparing his Premiership game against Liverpool than a league 1 game with less than 4,000 spectators - to be fair.
OldNick Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 Hopefully we can wave to them as we pass. Villa were said to be trying to buy Charlie Adam according to SSN and so Blackpool could be destabilised.

anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 Do some people really want Blackpool to be relegated just because Holloway threw his rattle out of the pram? I think it is great that a small club that have spent little can get promoted to the top flight and then hold their own. Their approach has been reallly refreshing, certainly an improvement on some of the other dross in the lower half e.g. Blackburn and Wigan. captainchris Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 I want Blackpool to go down. I want Blackpool to loose against Liverpool - it's as simple as that!
bender Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 I didnt want them to go down but do now. Holloway is a wan**r. He lost to a team two leagues below his and instead of coming out and congratulating the opposition and perhaps apologising to his own fans for losing to a L1 team, he picks up on the most common chant around, and one that was always likely to be sang in the circumstances. He also chose to shoehorn in the fact that he got Blackpool in the Prem (despite finishing 6th), when this wasnt the time to be talkig about the Prem, it was a cup game. doddisalegend Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 Damn I was hoping Blackpool would lose this one just to make the grumpy little dwarf look even more stupid, sadly now he'll claim he was totally right in sticking two fingers up at the FA cup. Kingsland Red Posted 12 January, 2011 Author Share Posted 12 January, 2011 I still think Blackpool were a little unambitious in not trying to win both games. It's a very recent thing, this paranoia arising from the poor pampered Premiership players playing too many games. And in an era when the players are so well protected from the modern day Ron Harris or Tommy Smith ( albeit I struggle to think of a modern equivalent).
