The9 Posted 21 January, 2011 Share Posted 21 January, 2011 Lambert saying OXO is the best young lad he's played with in 10yrs ....not bad. Yeah but he's been playing for lower league sides the whole time, what does he know compared to Prem youth players ? By definition the academies at smaller lower level clubs aren't going to have as good players.

Saint J 77 Posted 21 January, 2011 Share Posted 21 January, 2011 Did you ask him if there was any truth to the rumour he was unhappy because a potential move to Middlesbrough in the summer was blocked? A very good read, thanks Saint Peach!
saintscottofthenortham Posted 21 January, 2011 Share Posted 21 January, 2011 Good work Peach. RL has always come across as a down to earth fella and its good to hear from him. Interesting comment about the beginning of the season. There clearly were issues that needed to be sorted. I for one didn't realise he wasn't training and was going straight into matches - No wonder he looked so bad. Maybe those that were slating him should take that into account and hold there hands up. capitalsaint Posted 21 January, 2011 Share Posted 21 January, 2011 Go on, lift the lid! I think it would actually be quite good PR for the club, highlighting the benefits of the technical team and the things they are planning for. Would remove a lot of the traditional skepticism fans have towards those sorts of roles in this country.
Charlie Wayman Posted 21 January, 2011 Share Posted 21 January, 2011 By definition the academies at smaller lower level clubs aren't going to have as good players. On what possible basis can you say that? Frankly this view is prejudicial nonsense. Real talent can emerge from anywhere at any time. Kids don't blossom to order, they need a personal combination of good coaches, good surroundings, lots of attention and to feel loved. It is arguable that being with one of the BIG FOUR could be the worst place to find and develop high level talents. How come the BIG FOUR didn't find Shearer, Le Tosser, Bridge, Walcott or Bale if you think you are right?
