david in sweden Posted 12 March, 2011 Share Posted 12 March, 2011 Looking at the top six, the following facts are: Peterboro have 3 more away fixtures than home (to play). Bournemouth 2 more away fixtures than home. The following have "6 pointers " to play against other top six clubs. Brighton : So'ton (H) and Hudd'f'd (H) Huddf'd : Peterboro (H) MK Dons (A) Brighton (A) Peterbor : Bournemoth (H) Huddf'd (A) MK Dons (A) SAINTS : MK Dons (H) Brighton (A) Bor'm'th : Peterboro (A) MK Dons: Peterboro (H) Huddf'd (H) SAINTS (A) it goes without saying that some of the "right results" could help us enormously. Saint_clark Posted 12 March, 2011 Share Posted 12 March, 2011 MK Dons winning against Posh and Hudders would help a lot.
Alanh Posted 12 March, 2011 Share Posted 12 March, 2011 We can keep franchise FC below us by beating them. The Peterborough v Huddersfield match is the most important as it could give us the chance to get ahead of one or both of them without using up a game in hand. It's in our hands. SFC Forever Posted 13 March, 2011 Share Posted 13 March, 2011 Don't forget to look at Leyton cos they are moving ever closer and have now gone something like 14 league games without defeat.
bender Posted 13 March, 2011 Share Posted 13 March, 2011 Don't forget to look at Leyton cos they are moving ever closer and have now gone something like 14 league games without defeat. We would have to drop serious points for them to catch us. I'm worrying about Hudders and Posh and theyre upcoming fixtures look good for us. Our games in hand appear to be the Charlton ones. Thats when we'll properly claim 2nd.
alpine_saint Posted 13 March, 2011 Share Posted 13 March, 2011 Except Bournemouth, I would say we have the easiest 6-pointer schedule. Huddersfield, Peterborough and MK Dons have it pretty tough.

Agreed, although we all have pretty tricky run-ins. P'Boro def. have the hardest though, which is good news based on their current form.

Orient won't catch anyone for 2nd place, but their goal will be the play-offs in place of either Bournemouth or MK Dons and any matches against either MK Dons or Orient will be affected by the struggle for the 5th and 6th play-off places.I'm writing Bournemouth off now because losing 2 of 2 probably means they've blown it given the number of games they've played. benjii Posted 13 March, 2011 Share Posted 13 March, 2011 Orient have Pboro at home (and us) do they are certainly relevant to the mix.

Orient could be 12+ points behind us, but we might still have to play them in the play-offs. 2nd place will do nicely please to avoid the strain on the nerves

Jimmy Gabriel's Halo Posted 13 March, 2011 Share Posted 13 March, 2011 Leyton Orient will claim the last play off place ahead of MK Franchise as they have 4 games in hand on them and are currently 8 points behind with a better goal difference. Our away game there will be one of the 6 pointers for sure. Mark my words.

Orient's form is awesome at present and if they continue to pick up points, then they could be in contention ...at the expense of Bournemouth ot MK Dons.? eastleighhalo Posted 15 March, 2011 Share Posted 15 March, 2011 Personally i find it gut wrenching when most of the other teams around us win yet again..its definately a case of waiting for a couple of teams to crack under the pressure..lets pray it wont be us. Its ok having the games in hand BUT we have simply got to win them at the moment. I would breath a lot easier if /when we can afford at least a couple of slip ups ( ala Walsall etc) ....im not sure thats gonna happen tho . Having said all that i STILL think that Brighton will wobble hence the league is there to be won so thats gotta be our ultimate aim.
