Mr X Posted 20 March, 2011 Share Posted 20 March, 2011 In Lambert and Barnard we have two proven goal scorers that seem to have started to form a nice partnership. Should they get injured we dont really have anyone else to safely rely on, Time to sign one more of lamberts quality or players in other areas more important? We have Guly, Lallana, Chamberlain, Forte, N'Gassen and if ever fit Connolly can all fill one of the two places up front.
opthomps Posted 20 March, 2011 Share Posted 20 March, 2011 Guly is back now isnt he?... Of course I think any team in the world could always use one more quality striker, so the answer has to be yes. Surely little chance of getting one now though.
skintsaint Posted 20 March, 2011 Share Posted 20 March, 2011 im sure a quality striker would come and warm the bench 'incase' one of them gets injured/suspended.

S-Clarke Posted 20 March, 2011 Share Posted 20 March, 2011 DC is close to a return, we also have Forte and Guly who can play up top (and even a recall option on Doble's loan) The striker positions are the least of our worries - esp. when you have Alex and Lallana who can bang in goals from out wide too. Midfield is the only area we're really short in.
paulwantsapint Posted 20 March, 2011 Share Posted 20 March, 2011 don't forget that both Fonte & Butterfield have both played & scored goals for previous clubs while up front

Dalek2003 Posted 20 March, 2011 Share Posted 20 March, 2011 If Connolly is out of the treatment room this is great news as he could be one of our most effective strikers.

Why is connolly constantly injured? is so frustrating as quality player, jaidi is older is he not? yet manages to stay reasonably fit
Tony F Posted 20 March, 2011 Share Posted 20 March, 2011 This is indeed a wholly reasonable question...... how can we accept that "Mr Treatment Room"'s problems are purely age-related? He really must be one of these "vulnerable" souls; lets face it, we picked him up on a free cos he'd been out of action, injured, so long that no-one else held his registration.....
