Clunge Posted 30 March, 2013 Share Posted 30 March, 2013 For me the only reason lambert hasn't been called up for England is because of his age, with this in mind and rodriguez's current form do you think he may be closer to a call up then sir rickie? Saintandy666 Posted 30 March, 2013 Share Posted 30 March, 2013 Not this year, maybe if he does 20+ goals next season... then he'd be hard to ignore.
Colinjb Posted 30 March, 2013 Share Posted 30 March, 2013 The irony of this means that yes, it'll happen.

Doesn't even need to be 20, just amongst top scorers really. I believe suarez is the only player with more than 20 goals at the mo?
Crazy Diamond Posted 30 March, 2013 Share Posted 30 March, 2013 Gets better with each game, but he's a Southampton player, so probably not.

Lighthouse Posted 30 March, 2013 Share Posted 30 March, 2013 Lambert has 14 goals this season JRod has 8 Sturridge has 7 Carroll has 5 Welbeck has 2 Guess which 3 of those will be in the next England team. Goals apparently not the main issue.

Crab Lungs Posted 30 March, 2013 Share Posted 30 March, 2013 And SRL has scored the same number of goals as the three of them put together. And what's more, that makes it all the more illogical. I see Grant Holt had another rant at the England setup - and he's bloody spot on, too. Glad someone will say something; He's obviously written off any chance he ever had but I just hope his words don't fall on deaf ears. They probably will though, such is the ridiculous, antiquated setup of the England squad.
pingwing Posted 30 March, 2013 Share Posted 30 March, 2013 Do Lambert or Rodrigues play in red? Yes Is it Liverpool red? No Will Owly see them? No Do we need them playing international football? Overall no. I am semi happy with it. They are better than most of the england team, but then again most players are but I am happy with them being dedicated to us really. JustinR Posted 31 March, 2013 Share Posted 31 March, 2013 He's a long way off still IMO. Out most improved player but sometimes lacks composure in front off goal. Excited to see what the future holds tho. In fact the whole team, young and hungry
AussieDog Posted 31 March, 2013 Share Posted 31 March, 2013 I think it's great that at least half the team most weeks is English, and that most of them wouldn't look out of place in an england setup. I just hope we can keep the majority of them
Andre Posted 31 March, 2013 Share Posted 31 March, 2013 Just happy he's playing well for us, tbh. Don't want him risking injury/tiredness.
This Charming Man Posted 31 March, 2013 Share Posted 31 March, 2013 (edited) He's getting better and better with every game at the moment. Though his touch and decision making can let him down at times and he's not international standard just yet, IMO. Carry on improving at the rate he is and it'll happen sooner rather than later though. Edited 31 March, 2013 by This Charming Man

Makes sense I suppose, but there is a large degree of he's a United player so guaranteed an England call up ahead of others of his type.

Viking Saint Posted 6 April, 2013 Share Posted 6 April, 2013 I feel it's a double edged sword....on one hand, it's a great sign that our players are performing so well, but the flip side is that if they're not playing for England, fewer games, less chance of injury and in the shop window less so less chance of them gettin bought by bigger clubs....I honestly believe we're on the verge of something big starting to happen...these are better days
david in sweden Posted 6 April, 2013 Share Posted 6 April, 2013 if it's goals That England want then Jay Rod is just as good as Defoe or Welbeck........
