Good replacement for Anderton. The sort of player who can come on as a sub and have a big impact, especially at their level.

He's a perfect replacement for Anderton.

He can hog the treatment bench just like Sicknote did.

Idiotkez was completely f**king useless. In fact, worse than useless; Mr. "Dead-ball specialist" my arse...

He was one of our better players towards the end of last season. If he's prepared to work for the sort of wages Bournemouth can afford, I'd have him back here in a flash.

Have to agree, just a shame he was on the treatment table too often. As you say if Bournemouth can afford his wages then let's get him back here, he is still good and experienced enough and would work well with our kids. I can't believe alpine thought he was completely f**king useless especially from the comfort of his armchair.

Slightly harsh. I hope he gets on well down there, he deserves it after (literally) running himself into ground at the end of last season. I liked his fight with Euell (I think) on the final day, it showed how much both cared.

Idiakez played very well for us - in the play-off season let us not forget that our best run of form in the autumn coincided with him partnering Jhonny V in the centre of the park.

Shame his body wasn't up to it anymore, but that's no reason to hate him.

Sums it up perfectly, IMO.

When his fitness allowed, he put in some excellent performances for us and had a real impact on many games. Sadly, he was injury prone which limited how effective he could be for us. But he was far from useless.

A fully fit Idiakez would be perfect for us right now!

Agree with you. He must be prepared to take a low wage for Bournemouth to be able to consider it. If he has a lower wage expectation now then I too would like to have him back. I believe we let him go as he was one of the higher wage earners. On the injury front, he was only getting these niggling injuries as he wasn't playing consistently under Burley. Once he had a good run in the team, his fitness improved and so fewer injuries.

Come back Idi, 5K a week, ok for you?

Agree, thought he was one of the few bright spots of last season. His best game IMO was Bristol City home. I'd think he'd do quite well in the current side but fitness was always an issue with II sadly.

As he's seen working hard in the gym pretty much every day, I would say he's pretty fit. Would be worth seeing if he's up to much on the football field still!?

By fitness, I really meant being injury prone and having a body that's up to the strains of competitive football. I've no doubt he has the athletic ability to play 90 minutes a week still, but I'm not convinced his body can take it. It certainly seemed not to be the case when at Saints.

That said, as an impact player with the experience to guide the younger players, I'd be pleased to see him back. Even having him around to guide and encourage on the training field and from the bench would be useful.

Don't think wages will be much of an issue. II has been without a contract since he left here 6 months ago. They could offer him peanuts and he'd probably take it.

At the time, signing II seemed like a good signing. However with hindsight it was a poor decision as he was never fit enough to build a midfield around.

Best of luck to him anyway. His legs may have gone, but I don't think he lacked effort.

I don't remember II as being that good under Pearson though. Against WBA he was awful, play just went right round him in the middle. It was a similar story in games like Scunny away.
