Saint Charlie Posted 4 July, 2014 Author Share Posted 4 July, 2014 Really? Legend for me. But often when players and managers leave their abilities become downgraded to save face. Also, didnt like how he only ever said "made up" in his interviews. Vocab was poor to say the least. The prematch chats between Rickie and Chung would have been great to witness. OldNick Posted 4 July, 2014 Share Posted 4 July, 2014 shouldnt this be on the Liverpool forum? He's gone and we have to look elsewhere for heroes.
ecuk268 Posted 4 July, 2014 Share Posted 4 July, 2014 A mutually beneficial relationship. He helped us get back to the Prem. We helped him end his career at his boyhood club and he left in a respectful way. Will always be welcome back.

Pastor Patrón Posted 4 July, 2014 Share Posted 4 July, 2014 Past his best legend, I thought he was gash last season despite grabbing a few goals in the end.
a1ex2001 Posted 4 July, 2014 Share Posted 4 July, 2014 Put a smile on my face, nice to see a thread that isn't doom and gloom depression. Definitely a legend who now, past his best has been put out to pasture for a few easy years before he'd shipped off to the glue factory. Second only to Le Tiss for me in the Legends in my lifetime category.
Ewell Posted 4 July, 2014 Share Posted 4 July, 2014 Total legend and the biggest Saints HERO since MLT for me. Will always applaud him and wish him all the best.
Golden Balls Posted 4 July, 2014 Share Posted 4 July, 2014 Top scorer in 3 divisions for us. Scored home and away V the skates. Scored at Wembley for us. Legend.

Yep - He was our talisman who did more than most on the pitch to get us back to the Prem. Will aways love the guy..
Saint Charlie Posted 4 July, 2014 Author Share Posted 4 July, 2014 For some reason I loved his goal away at Derby in the Championship season. That and the second away at Palace were class and not his usual type.

doc oli Posted 4 July, 2014 Share Posted 4 July, 2014 Pass v Fulham probably the best thing he did last season, but also probably the best pass seen since Le Tiss.
Saint Charlie Posted 5 July, 2014 Author Share Posted 5 July, 2014 His penalties were good but would have been nice to see a bit more variety in the technique, maybe the odd stuttered run up or chipped shot. Was a bit predictable at times, amble up, smash it in the bottom corner, grin at the fans and give Lallana a piggy back.

Wiseone Posted 6 July, 2014 Share Posted 6 July, 2014 I bumped into Rickie yesterday. He is here in Barbados with his family. I thanked him on behalf of all us Saints fans for his time at Saints. On the World Cup he said he was absolutely gutted that we went out in the group stage. I didn't want to have a long and protracted conversation with him as was with his kids. Saint Fan CaM Posted 6 July, 2014 Share Posted 6 July, 2014 Should have asked him what he said to Lallana and Lovren about joining Liverpool. (-;
Wiseone Posted 6 July, 2014 Share Posted 6 July, 2014 I should have done but his kids were there and to be honest when you bump into someone in that sort of situation probably the last thing they want is to spill the beans etc.! I just thought say what I feel and get out of there.

The9 Posted 8 July, 2014 Share Posted 8 July, 2014 Absolutely superb in taking us to the Premier League and not looking out of place when we arrived. Plus a £3m profit.

Well 2.5 anyway, by the time Rovers and Rochdale get their cuts, plus they get their cut of any add-ons as well.
