Bale is crap,

maybe we could get him back on loan

"What the hell has happened to Gareth Bale? He was meant to be Ryan Giggs and Roberto Carlos rolled into one but he's forgotten how to pass and tackle! He looks out of his depth."

Just watched most of first half.......... Burnley do everything that Saints don't do...........play with passion , heart, commitment, belief, team spirit, drive, enthusiasm and a will to win.............in fact its hard to believe Saints are playing in same league.............I see Derby are playing Man U tomorrow night............. wonder if they will roll over with their legs in the air like the sorry bunch of losers that play at SMS??.......will be interesting!!

what's that I see half way through the second half??? Burnley on their backs having their collective tummy tickled?

Not quite so hard to imagine them being in the same league as us at present now eh?

Just looked and it's 4-1 now. Looks like a bit of a gulf in fitness if not entirely class has told although I like Owen Coyle as a young manager and he has bought very well with the bit of investment they've had. Eagles is the sort of player Saints should have been buying in summer 2006 with the wonderful benefit of hindsight - talented, young and hungry after a setback at Man U. Bet the wages aren't as bad as some of the players we signed that summer either. Paterson is another one mixed in with experienced players on smaller fees like Clarke Carlisle. There's some smart lower league buys in there as well and a couple of home-grown.

Bale seems to be getting a lot of criticism. Surprised Fergie didn't buy him but perhaps knew that he wasn't quite ready for that level of club.

Burnley are a well organised hardworking side with skillful players who play some good football. McGoldrick and others should study the recording of game on how hard Paterson worked making runs and being supported by Eagles, Blake and McCann etc which offered a goal threat and something Saints don't seem to know how to do.

Unfortunately for Burnley they missed their centre half and captain Caldwell and his replacement Duff had a nightmare game. They conceded 3 soft goals and also missed Gudjohnsen who was protecting the back 4 and who went off injured.

Also alot of their players have played at lower levels like Paterson and Elliot (ex Bournmouth and Saints fan). Just wish our coaching team and chairman director of football would have some knowledge of players like these.

Had to do a double-take this morning. I thought for one second Harry was talking about us when I read this quote in today's paper:

Redknapp said: ‘People will accept players making mistakes, but giving up and not chasing back? People come to see effort and hard work as well as skill.

‘I told them at half-time that I would find out a lot about them after the break. That’s the first time I really tore into them. We are naive. There is no balance and no strength in depth. We don’t have the experience. This was a badly put together squad from day one.’
