Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Interesting to note that Redmond's impending departure leaves us with 24 players in the 1st team squad. This includes Willy and Tino, and with Lavia now injured we are down to 21 available for the 20 needed in a matchday squad. A couple more injuries and we will be needing to go to the B team to supplement the bench. Good for the 'pathway' for our youngsters, but may leave the bench a bit weaker.

So, when are we signing this Carlos Borges lad then? Assume he's high up on our Man City academy acquisition target list for the next transfer window? ;)

(Talking of which, shouldn't we have a 'January 2023 Transfer Window' thread up and running by now...? :) )

It will not take long for our new young standout crop to be snapped up. LAVIA is already on Chelsea radar.....

The Blues took Zakaria on loan from Juventus last Thursday but Boehly is said to be aware that the Switzerland international is a short-term fix.

Chelsea turned to Zakaria after having offers rejected for Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia and Ajax’s Edson Alvarez.

Can we recall loans, in extremis? (not you, Bedders)

Kvaratskhelia looks a bit of a steal for Napoli. Just seen the two goals he scored at the weekend - very different but both superb. Only cost them about 10m euros.

Yup. Made a mug of Gomez and TAA tonight, though should've buried the chances that VVD blocked.

I like the description by Alfie House in the Daily Echo of the transfer window.

Sport Republic and the Saints hierarchy were unsuccessful in adding a supercar but did bring in a fleet of reliable and promising motors while trading out some of their old bangers.
