Let's look at the people that do arrive.

Choices:.

1. Accomodated.

2. Left to wander, sleeping wherever and disappearing from the system.

Which one? If 2, are you ok with them kipping in the field outside your house? I'd prefer they were odd the streets.

Throw in No NHS, no money, no phones, no day trips, no place to stay, no HMOs, no free anything

I suspect that may go some way to remove many of the incentives to come in the first place.

I would stop them in the Channel, but you would not entertain that idea....you wont enertain the above, so guess we are stuck with asking them nicely to not rape our kids.

What a time to be alive

Ok. So, hypothetically, someone who has yet to be approved staggers into a&e, heart attack, stabbed, appendix popped, whatever. What do the medics do, step over them and leave them to die? If you're there with your kids, is that the kind of society you want them to see?

Hypothetically, if they dont throw their passport in the sea they could come here legally, perhaps?

You are straw manning an argument as lefties so often love to do.

There are countless middle ground suggestions between leaving people to die, and actively giving them as many freebies as possible.

Surely even someone as thick as you can see that Turkish’s post, which happened in the area where the boats are landing, by an unvetted migrant, is more relevant than a horrific crime elsewhere.

Also, just wait until you hear the background of the perpetrators in the one you linked.

I think you can use a bit of common sense. A general rule that handouts are kept to a minimum with the very basics provided for. Even prisoners receive medical care for example. The tiny amount of migrants who are children would obviously be treated differently. People who cross the channel can be held securely but also treated with fairness and not inhumane conditions whilst it is also made clear to them that what they have done is an illegal act and they will not be allowed to stay in this country and receive handouts. Then work to remove as many of them as possible in as short a time as possible. There should be no truck with human rights lawyers stopping planes at the eleventh hour or anything like that. Look into third party countries if necessary in the rare cases where their home countries wilfully refuse. Once that was working properly and I mean the majority of them out quickly then word will soon spread and they won't attempt it to the same level again.

I am outraged by all crimes, because I want to live in a better country. You however are trying to score points by posting random other heinous crimes.

To be fair, talking to an egg does sound a little boring.

I think there's extremists on both sides of this issue. On one hand you've got open borders people and people who want to offer these guys handouts and help to make themselves feel like good people not realising that this just makes the problen worse and let's the horrible ones commit more awful crimes.

On the other side you've got people who consider all these people to be vile rapists and extremists who want them all assaulted the minute they step off a dinghy. Like egg says, that doesn't deal with any of the practical realities of how to deal with the problem once they arrive and realistically you'll never stop them completely.

The vast majority of people are somewhere in the middle. They don't want these people here and they would prefer they went home but they don't want to treat them with no humanity. They recognise they are a drain on the public purse and potentially a danger to the public but they realise that assaulting the police over it is futile. They see everything costing more, more and more British people struggling and then a load of people arriving in a dinghy and receiving free stuff is the most obvious example of unfairness. Given the choice, most people in the middle would like this dealt with in a sensible way and that means winning the PR war. Treating migrants fairly but firmly, not giving them an overly pleasant experience in this country and doing what is necessary to make it less attractive to make the journey. All that can be achieved if there was the political will to do so.

National referendum,  happy to welcome these poor, unfortunate people into our country or they're filth, kick them out.

Vote the former, then you help support them, welfare, employment, criminal costs if they offend.

Vote latter, you pay nowt.

Can't be arsed to vote, then you're deemed to be on the support side.

Quite. Safety and preference are not the same thing.

We’ll need some compromise for the partnership to work with France, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany, but I don’t give a toss if their relatives are here illegally already.

One aspect that’s been missed is that the boats have sailed the same route as Brittany Ferries. That’s 4-5 longer, and a lot more treacherous than from Calais to Dover.

It shows how desperate the smugglers are and how little they value those on those little rafts.

Can see a major sinking coming up if the forecast suddenly changed mid-sail which happens in early autumn on longer routes.

Good post, and I think mostly spot on.

The only thing I would say that you missed is - no police were assaulted last night or in Dover. Anyone that was there or knows people that were knows that the majority of protestors are every day working people & parents that are concerned at how things are going.

There’s a concerted campaign by the state & media to portray anyone with concerns on these issues as “far right” and “aggressive”, which the champagne socialists in your first paragraph tend to gobble up.

Turkey?! That is brilliant, how long did it take you to come up with that one!!!

The point of my post was that the protests happened the day after an Iraqi man was charged with rape of a child, which perhaps explains why they happened in the first place or so many were there. No a "yeah but.." post like yours

I think you'll find the vast majority of the public have concerns about this issue. It's consistently one of the top issues that the public cares about often above the cost of living. I have sympathies with people who have been negatively impacted by mass immigration. I think the government can do more like I've outlined to reduce the problem. The issue is that before that happens, getting some bloke on a live stream to call for backup and having hundreds of people travel to be intimidating and get in a standoff with police isn't going to actually do anything productive. The migrants still got in last night and are still part of the system. There should be actual protests calling for the introduction of detention centres and the speeding up of processing rather than calling for something unachievable which is the stopping of the boats through other means.

Basically the sooner that people accept that it's impossible to actually stop the boats and concentrate on removing the issue as quickly as possible, the better off everyone will be. Including Danny Tommo and his lads.
