benjii Posted Sunday at 15:46 Posted Sunday at 15:46 I've just got a train from Hamburg to Berlin. It was 30 minutes late and cost EUR 100. So their trains suck too. Eat that, Fritz.
AlexLaw76 Posted Sunday at 15:53 Posted Sunday at 15:53 God. Thought European trains would take about 12 mins to reach the destination, and fluff you up on the way, all for about €1
whelk Posted Sunday at 15:59 Posted Sunday at 15:59 I caught a train from Soton to Manchester and back and arrived to the minute both ways. Cost a fortune mind but toilets worked as well.

Mixedkebab Posted Sunday at 20:56 Posted Sunday at 20:56 The old German efficiency bollocks isn’t true anymore at least on public transport, and the western cities are mostly dirty gaffs often dodgy as fuck at night around central zones. While this isn’t unusual worldwide, it’s very different to Germany about 15 years ago. I’d exclude Bavaria and Berlin from this, they still feel pretty German. 1
Turkish Posted Monday at 19:20 Posted Monday at 19:20 My boss cannot believe it costs me 280 quid to go from Harrogate to London, he lives in Milan and it's twice as far and costs him 60 euros.

It's nuts. Recently my mate and his mate flew to Istanbul, stayed over, and went to a gig, all for less than I paid for a return (1st class admittedly) to Leeds. £250 ISH iirc.

Whitey Grandad Posted Monday at 20:06 Posted Monday at 20:06 Not quite as extreme but last week I went into Athens from Piraeus on the train for €1.20 each way. 1

Picard Posted yesterday at 03:41 Posted yesterday at 03:41 Those who are members don't get ads I suppose but I'm getting an ad for a German company that makes model trains on this page. 1 2

whelk Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I used to fly out each week to Brussels from Soton. We’d fly first class which amounted to being up the front of the plane with curtain pulled to separate and served first - for treble the price! No benefit of lounge at Soton either. Although was a global chemical company who at the time didn’t seem to give a shit and would fly people out and back same day just to see a presentation.
