Saint86 Posted July 3 Posted July 3 (edited) Thought it may be interesting to keep track of this in a separate thread (figures are based on rumours/assumptions): Incomings: Josh Quarshie - £3M (wage unknown - will assume 750k per year, young player aligned with someone like Onuachu on a 50% wage cut) Outgoings: Sulemana - initial £15M, which could rise to £18M and apparently has a 15% sell on clause. (Rumoured annual wage £2M, 40k per week) Onuachu - £7M (rumoured wage of £1.5M per year, 30k per week). SAA - £8.5M (rumoured annual wage of 0.25M per year) Lallana - free (rumoured wages of £2.35m per year, 48k per week) Lumley - free (rumoured wages of 0.5M per year) KWP - free (estimated at £1M annually, £20k per week) Current balance: +27.5M in transfer fees, an estimated £6.85M off the annual wage bill. SaintsFan86 Posted July 3 Posted July 3 You forgot to add SAA, roughly about 7.5/8.5 Million. Plus you haven't included wages saved from Lumley, KWP and Lallana. 6

skintsaint Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Need to take Martin and Juric off the wage bill too now they have found clubs.

Pwoite Posted July 3 Posted July 3 I like the thread. Good luck keeping it running. What are the savings in wages as a result of relegation and what’s the difference between Sky money and parachute payments?

I wouldn't structure it like this tbh, net spend is irrelevant in the days of PSR. I think you need to chunk it up into annual liabilities. 2 1
suewhistle Posted July 3 Posted July 3 If I were you Saint86, I'd delegate that aspect of it to Farmer Saint.. 1 2

Good idea to keep a track, even if not for 'PSR' purposes it's nice to see what sort of profit/loss we're operating at. We've got to win that net spend table at the end of the season I honestly cannot see KWP being on 20k though, surely not. I'd have estimated at least 60 on his most recent renewal. If he's been playing for us on 20k whilst the likes of Jack Stephens ponce around on 60k per week then fuck me, he's deserves a medal.
suewhistle Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Frankly professional sport always rather surprises me. When you have to pay to go to the gym or local pool, and pay £25/35 a month to play grassroots football all the figures bandied about seem high to me! But yes, KWP was probably on more..
EBS1980 Posted July 3 Posted July 3 What about those out on loan last season who are now back, surely their wages were part funded
saint michael Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Think its time to lock this thread to save Saint86 becoming 96

Pwoite Posted July 8 Posted July 8 In crude terms, can anyone quantify: - loss of Sky money compared to last season - other known reductions in revenue - reduction in player wages through relegation clauses Surely these are the three big ‘knowns’ before we worry about income and expenditure through transfers. (Okay, player sales also reduces salaries but incomings go the other way, though probably to a lesser extent.)
