Still gives the ball away cheaply at times, but offers a bit more physical play than Fellows. Thought we were a bit lapse for about twenty odd minutes before we scored the second. Tried to go full on RM again, better teams I think would have punished us in that period. Results like this just make the Charlton one all the more frustrating. Matsuki offers two more goals than fellows as well! I thought he played very well and wasn’t surprised to see him picked over Fellows who needs to add more to his game. 1

Thought Northam good tonight but hate the song- You are only a c@@t with a whistle- really!!!! and why mention Keir Starmer since when have politics and footie mixed except when Sunsk made his once in a lifetime visit to us a couple of seasons back! The FA seem to think politics and football are the same which is a joke …. Lets face it the Northam are right too….. 😁

It was a good goal but I think he expected the pass. If Leo hadn't scored I think there would have been a bit of a tiff. However after Leo's shot was parried for the Matsuki goal, I suspect Larin had got himself into such a good position that he'd have knocked in the rebound anyway. It's not often we praise a striker for a performance in which he doesn't score, but last night showed how much of an asset Larin can be for the rest of the season. Keep him and Ross fit and we will be in good shape. 4
Willo of Whiteley Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Larin was on the ground laughing after Scienza scored. 😂 I’m sure he’s absolutely fine, he didn’t look pissed off in the slightest 2

But we've had plenty of games where it felt like nothing was going our way, so we were due one of those. And you can't get the rub of the green if you don't create the chances in the first place, so we deserved it. Not sure if already mentioned but our Xg yesterday was only 0.3 higher than Saturday! Fellows clearly needs to work on his shooting but his main problem currently seems to be a loss of confidence. He was playing great in the good run when Tonda first took over, but his form has deseted him since then. Hopefully the coaches can nurse him back into form as still think we can use his crossing ability (when in form) now that we have strikers who are a danger in the air. Matsuki has certainly proved he can offer something a little different as an option on that side or in the centre though.

Thankfully he scored, but I think Larin would have been well within his rights to give him a bollocking if he hadn't. Funnily enough there was another opportunity like that in the second half when Aziz went through, this time slightly on the right side. On this occasion he chose to play a disguised no look square pass, which was blocked/cut out. I thought on that occasion Azaz should have been more direct/selfish and taken the ball on and shot himself. Sometimes we are selfish and sometimes not selfish enough. We were well clear before both incidents so it didn't matter, but making the right choices when its 0-0 against say Coventry is going to be important. In the ground it did look as though Larin was clear and the much better choice but on the highlights it did look as though he was covered, or would have been, by the time the ball got to him. Leo was still greedy, but it came off so you can't complain though.
