Rules - every man should own a decent pair of boots and brogues, never wear gym or running trainers with jeans. Penny loafers done right can look good done baldy can look awful. Spend as much as you can afford on shoes and look after them it’s worth it for many many reasons 1

But then I have sciatica and a dodgy lower back. So go for comfort over style when I can.
