Reading the headline I assumed the doubling of costs means they’re ditching the bubble but reading the comments from the OB with regards to the route into Southampton and the cost of that it sounds more like a bubble again. 
 

 

It’s a badly written article, the costs aren’t doubling, it’s just one game at a time £250k plus another game at £250k.

It does say the costs have doubled, not sure how that would be remotely possible. Suspect it's deliberately misleading to try and get more support for the bubble.

No idea why they mention Frogmore Road for the game down there though, our coaches go nowhere near there.

Anyone trying to engage in “banter” that is not on the pre approved list of songs to be taken down into the stadium cells and be given a cleansing by pre selected FAB henchmen 

anyone quoting stats, XG or other wankerisms to be cleansed as above 

this list is no exhaustive but requires fans to dress, look and behave in a manor fitting of a club that is setting the standards back into football

The club has been working with the Football Supporters’ Association (FSA) to help develop fan engagement and ensure that the creation of the Fan Advisory Board is independent and transparent.  

 

We received an outstanding response from supporters, with a high number of applications from fans who are passionate about the Club and want to play a part in shaping the supporter experience.

 

As part of the agreed selection process, applications were independently reviewed and shortlisted by the FSA. We’re sorry to let you know that you won’t be progressing to the next stage on this occasion.

 

This was not an easy decision, and we’d like to thank you for the time and thought you put into your application. The level of interest and quality of responses has shown the strength of our supporter community and the passion fans have for the Club.

I'd imagine the reason was @Noodles34 doesn't use the bingo bus for away games, his purchase of club tat is far to low, he doesn't wear replica kits, doesn't represent a very specific niche group, might disagree with the club, and is actually representative of a lot of lads who go to games.

And as we know the last thing the club wants are people who represent annoying "legacy fans" when there's so many other far more palatable groups they want to represent instead.

Sorry to reject you @Noodles34 when we reviewed applications your first of many failings was not mentioning where you were from, how long you’d been a season ticket holder and how few games you’d missed in the last 50 years as your personal statement to open your application.

Obviously with places on the FAB limited and quotas to fill for women, BAME, Asian, homosexual, Trans, young supporters and disabled fans, you did not represent any of this groups so didn’t truly represent our diverse fan base in 2026. 

Thanks for your interest in being a member of the FAB. As we now have two threads on this forum dedicated to our work then the lines of communication to us have never been more open. We will continue representing the fans with even stronger vigour. I would encourage you not to be too disappointed and continue to spend as much money in the club shop, kiosks and hospitality as you can to give you a better chance next year

Should do what Bristol City did with Cardiff when their game was a bubble, 200 of them turned up to a pub in Cardiff and watched the game in the pub to make a point

Absolutely buzzing at this news! Fantastic to be able to spend a few hours with our fellow fans at SMS soaking up the atmosphere whilst we wait for our transportation. When it arrives we will be like a travelling army all heading into Portsmouth safely in convoy watched over with the fantastic Hampshire Police making sure our safety is their number one priority. its a small pity that a tiny fraction of tickets will be lost this season but this only hammers home the point that the wonder police, football clubs and our own FAB are putting our safety and comfort ahead of lining their own pockets with ticket sales that might put fans at risk of hearing words that might offend them. I applaud the FAB for their part in this and i thank the police and clubs for putting the fans safety and comfort before everything else.

How would people lose £50 Rich? Surely the boycott would be not to buy the tickets?

The only way a boycott would work is if people bought then didn't go, otherwise other people would just buy the seats. 

Lots of people travelling down to watch it in pubs down there is the better option.

right, see your logic. Yeah, that's a tough one and that wouldn't work as most don't want to lose £50. 

So, really, we need to get the decision over turned. The mass travel is a good idea, but it's going to have to initiate with them first as that is the first game. So, they threaten to boycott tickets sales (yeah, others will buy them anyway) and say they are coming to Southampton anyway. Clearly, for the point of this working, we have to (in theory) welcome their arrival (not with bunting etc), I mean, we cannot have any violence. But you are hoping that if this gains momentum the old bill will knock the bubble on the head if they think a separate 500 skates are coming into town as well. They will struggle to manage both. 

It's going to take someone to organise this, someone who should have been on the FAB...

I don't think there's any real chance of them overturning the decision this time round. But if fans make it more difficult it might make it less worthwhile for them to do it in future.

Having spoken to the FSA last year the only way it gets overturned is if both fans groups at the meetings oppose it, as it stands it feels like the club is selecting the FAB specifically to have people in it that won't oppose it.

In which case the only other action is to take it into our own hands, i'd be in favour of buying tickets and not going, but unless it's the whole away end doing it it won't work

The other thing that needs to be done is to get people to change the narrative in the press, as things stand the press love the bubble because they can use it as an example of how fierce the rivalry is (and god knows a lot of our noddies do the same), what we need is voices in the press pointing out the hypocrisy of the fact we are one of only two games in the country to have it, and that the arrests were lower for the train in 2019 than the bubble last season.

The problem with that is that as fans we're not massively media savvy, and it seems that the one person who is has become a club shill on this issue (and i like Nick I as a person, i'm just massively disappointed with him on this)

Surely that would have the dibble all over it as soon as they got wind of it.

There are more than enough pubs in Cardiff City Centre for visiting fans to spread themselves across in a vaguely non-threatening way.

How would the pub know who is and isn't a Saints fan? By the time it's obvious they're not gonna be able to kick everyone out.

The old bill clocking onto it is the point, divert resources away from the ground.
