St. Jason Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 real good 5 mins on todays championship I thought it was a good, fair report, protest looked good, interviews with Crouch & Armstrong and the fans they spoke to had intelligent comments! Not sure Wotte knows what he's talking about "Rupert wasn't here last year and they (not we?) nearly went down, those people (us fans) are easy in their judgement" gone down in my estimations Lowe out! jawillwill Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=177943&postcount=317 I predicted it. I especially liked the shots of the flock of birds we got half way through the game. Although I guess the reports on the protest itself were better than I was expecting. SoccerMom Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 I thought the protest was well reported and the editing certainly got the flavour of the day over well. Also confirmed what I thought at the time about Swansea's first goal. I realise they must have been told to keep Scotland quiet, but at the cost of six men? Flipping Sunday League bunching, leaving the entire goal completely open. Come on Killer, sort out out!!

Easy in our judgement, fck off. You've been a key player in a shambles of a season, so please keep your out of touch comments to yourself. After his comments at the first press conference and other subsequent stuff, I have to say I'm not warming to this guy (then again considering I hold him jointly responsible for our current position, I've never been a fan). Seems as though he has gone to the Lowe School Of Charm and Togetherness. I was waiting for the first anti-Wotte diatribe based on his comments on the Championship. He does have a point though - we were hardly fighting for a play off place without Lowe last year, well not after certain posters got what they wanted and Burley left any way. People's memories are terribly selective. Wotte's only been here 6 months and can't be expected to know why Lowe is so unpopular - or just how much his comments would turn certain fans against him. Lowe has to go, but don't let us kid ourselves that his departure would solve all our problems. In terms of the highlights I'd rather less fans views and more football. After all I can get the fans views on here.

sun of spain Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 Must admit I was pleasantly surprised by the coverage,to be honest ITV just about got the balance right. At least our problems are now out there for all to see,so perhaps we might see some developments in the coming months ? Rupert will be seething at some of the honest comments that were made, expect him to sharpen his tongue and come out fighting. Surely now we can bring about the necessary changes the club needs to survive,to do that we need to keep the pressure on.
SaintDonkey Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 Lowe is the reason that we were so low down last season because he was the cause of our original relegation You can blame Lowe for us being in the Championship, but not for us being in the relegation places last season. That was down to a combination of Wilde and Crouch (and the Alpines of this world with their 'anyone can do better than Burley' rants ). You can blame Lowe for us being in the relegation places this season though. We need shot of Lowe, Wilde and Crouch to heal the rifts in this clubs, but this debate has been done to death. um pahars Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 Wotte's only been here 6 months and can't be expected to know why Lowe is so unpopular - or just how much his comments would turn certain fans against him. In which case, he'd be better off keeping his own counsel. Things haven't been good for quite a while and there are a number of reasons why we are where we are. I have no problem accepting that and I have no problem accepting that last season was a great escape as well. What I objected to was his flippant comment that we are "easy in our judgement". No we're not, we have judged this season purely on the results that Jan, Wotte and others produced under this "Revolutionary Coaching Set Up". A system that he was a key part of, and one that has delivered one home win and has left us floundering in the relegation zone.

Viking Warrior Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 Just watched the Championship. Not much football shown more about key personalities. I would like to say well done to the fans in the ground yesterday for getting behind the team but back to the tv slot. Why oh why does crouch continue to stoke the fires of hatred? with the comments he made. He is acting like a big school kid who has thrown his toys out of the pram Im sorry guys crouch maybe passionate etc about the club but he is not the man to take to the helm and lead the goodship southampton into calmer waters. I want to see a chairman act in a dignified and professional manner at all times. He's almost as bad as lowe and that slimy creature wilde If he ever gets back in as chairman there will still be unrest amongst the fans he isnt and never will be the leader of our club. Lowe out Wilde out and crouch out

St Landrew Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 I think I got a touch of motion sickness after watching it. Someone obviously thinks it's hip and trendy to have quirky camera angles, zooms et al. Back to basics please. There was a program about this a few weeks back. Incredibly, it seems people like to view TV from the angles they might actually be watching from if they were really at an event. The programme had a poll [we like those] and nearly 100% of those asked wanted an end to quirky angles and super quick editing. You or I could have told them that for nothing. Experts - who needs them..?
Johnny Shearer Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 I thought ITV had dispensed with this ages ago but I did get worried watching the build up with the march and interviews. CB Fry Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 not ever with ITV. Saints v Brum was the main game second week of the season, and we are the main game as much as our status of nowheresville in the title/play off race merits - ie hardly ever. We were main game about five times last season, though, and will be main game a few times season-to-go as we will be in a few relegation dogfights. OldNick Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 Mixed feelings about it.The fans in general were normal football fans not the I want to get on the telly lot that these things normally bring out .LC using as a party political broadcast, and I saw Perry mcmillan at the front.I was told he doesnt go to games (apologies if my info is wrong) Wotte was correct in respect that RL was not at the club last year and we were alos in a terrible position. It was not aimed at the fans who were fantastic at the game and the only swing Lowe song was drowned out.And the normal fans starting them up ddint try so well done those. After the game fine in my book. Whitey Grandad Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 Good coverage of the 'troubles' but the highlights were rubbish. SuperMikey Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 So much for us being the 'featured game' then. ITV seem to love Derby and Clough, didn't they do a feature on him last week as well as having their match as the main game? Molyneux = complete tw*t. That was a shocking challenge, probably would've been a straight red if he hadn't already been booked. Please Mark, don't play him. He's punching a bit above his weight here, loan him out to Bournemouth for the rest of the season and put Mills in at left back, or at least Skacel while he's still here. However, Saga's goals were both sublime finishes, especially the second one. I think with him in our team we might just survive this season.. St.Thomas7 Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 Taped the highlights on PlayTv (Like Sky+, but through PS3 on freeview!), just watched, and yes, the protest was well covered, good interviews, but like others have said, why the hell do they insist on showing highlights from those stupid angles?? Who wants to see that seriously?? I was actually there so saw them all but if I hadn't already seen the goals I'd be really hacked off. You just can't tell how good the goals were or from what distance. Ridiculous. And who wants to see some bits through a seas of player legs and bodies?? For gods sake itv, thanks god its on bbc next year! In case anyone wants to see the actual normal angled highlights from a tv p.o.v and not drunk wandering around the pitch with a camcorder p.o.v the highlights are on SkySports News in a minute, like in 2 mins.
