Ive nothing against her, but along with Crouch, now is not the time to be mouthing off. Save it and whatever changes are needed for the close season. Try and change what exactly? A power struggle and another change of manager with no money to spend and the Jan window closed is not going to improve things. Just the reverse IMO. Amesbury Saint Posted 3 February, 2009 Share Posted 3 February, 2009 I dont know her but I hope she has something positive to say about the future - that Lowe has gone - that Wilde has gone - that the rest of the board has gone - that a new Board has been installed - that a proper manager has been installed - that 5 experienced players have been signed on loan (can we sign emergency loans?) - that the next home fixture is a special one with all tickets £5 to season ticket holders and members - that the corners are open again - that the overdraft has been paid off - that season ticket prices for next season are £200 per adult irrespective of which league for all ST and members who buy by 30th April. Come on Mary and others time to make your move. We need you!

um pahars Posted 3 February, 2009 Share Posted 3 February, 2009 who is going to do that then...? It only needs Wilde to withdraw his support for Lowe as CEO and his position then becomes untenable IMHO (the starting point for voting would be 37% v 26% against Lowe). Any other major shareholder in addition to that (Richards, Askham, Withers etc) would be a bonus and woudl definitely seal his fate. We should be looking to appoint a CEO and Chairman who can bring some uinity and more importantly, some decent decision making to this Club ASAP. And with that, I wouldn't rule out a new manager as well to see us through the last 1/3rd of the season.

It really is not. If Crouch took over with an English manager we might stay up. MIGHT. But if Crouch failed I wouldnt blame him for it and at least we'd have a decent manager who knew more about League 1 than the current muppet. We would need to invest in 3-4 decent loan signings and that's going cost lots of money which Crouch doesn't have.
St Landrew Posted 4 February, 2009 Share Posted 4 February, 2009 I hope she asks for a step up in protests and boycotting, in order to send that message. Ther's nothing much else she can be positive about. The rest will be just bleating [sorry Mary, but we've heard enough of the damage this Board are doing]. We're all onside now Mary. Just ask the fans what you want them to do, otherwise they'll take it into their own hands.
Gordon Mockles Posted 4 February, 2009 Share Posted 4 February, 2009 I felt sorry for JP, well intended man dealt a poor hand. Probably the right decision to reshuffle the pack tho. Do you truly believe that? If so, you're more stupid than I gave you credit for. No offence! Whilst I believe Jan may be a good coach for the youth team, he was out of his depth in the CCC and we didn't have time (as we all implored pre-season) for this ludicrously risky experiment by a Chairman who knows next to nothing about football. Look at the facts! Now, the pack has been reshuffled BUT one half of the failed coaching set-up remains. My point - if we are to believe the club's own PR, Wotte and Poorvliet were this revolutionary Dutch Duo, total football, beautiful passing/football coaches who were to change Saints fortunes. It failed. Poorlviet was pushed to appease someone but half of this failed strategy remains. We sit 2nd from bottom of the CCC with little hope left. Lowe looks to have worked his wonders again...relegation beckons. How are you going to defend that? Errr, no money?! We had to push out all our goal scorers on loan? Safri had to go? We needed batches of hopeless, useless and injured loads instead of utilizing the loan system for the much needed experienced heads of senior pros? Pearson had to go as he was on too much money? We needed extra coaches brought in and our 'football chairman' to do our scouting? Mystery advisors are allegedly managing football matters? Errrr, Jan was undermined?! (I actually do believe that and feel he was a fall guy!) How can you suggest that it was the right decision to reshuffle the pack?! What drastic change will it achieve?! Actions SHOULD have been instigated months ago. Now, it seems we're pretty much f*cked! (but I'm sure many of those Lowe supporters only found on this forum will still be happy and clappy and say we were probably unlucky and it's the fault of the fans!) Rant No. 671 - OVER and OUT! Save it and whatever changes are needed for the close season. Sorry Pal. This is the time to be mouthing off. There has not been enough " mouthing off" IMO. Can you imagine the fans of many other clubs putting up with the mismanagement and unadulterated crap that we have had to endure in recent years. The average Saints fan is a decent, honest, loyal supporter of his or her "family" football club. I go back a long way (over 55 years). This present situation was not caused by the fans but by the individuals that we inherited when this club became a PLC and there is one individual who is head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to culpability. I'll leave you to guess who!

Frank's cousin Posted 4 February, 2009 Share Posted 4 February, 2009 I can't see any harm in Mary rallying the troops ready for inevitable Fair enough if its rallying the troops - that is the only thing these folk should be thinking about, nothing else and certainly not continuing their tit-for-tat sh!te in public - its just selfish - and that goes equally for Lowe and his crowd by the way, i dont to hear this crap right now, we are in a relegation battle. This public bickering from Corbett, Crouch and LM is also ultimately about ego, otherwise they would keep their own council now and urge fans to get behind the lads. There is simply NO benefit in this unless they have a concrete guarranteed solution lined up that will save us...

INFLUENCED.COM Posted 4 February, 2009 Share Posted 4 February, 2009 This public bickering from Corbett, Crouch and LM is also ultimately about ego, otherwise they would keep their own council now and urge fans to get behind the lads.... Agree but would add "keep" to getting behind the lads. I appreciate Marys family ties to the club and all that has been done by her family historically, however, by her own admission she and others associated to her made a major error when they sided with Wilde initially, imo she demonstrated her naivety and so beleive her time would be better spent sourcing investors who are able to put something on the table for SFC that Lowe et al could not turn down as it would be clear it is the best thing "in the intrest of the club". If she is using this format to make that request I apologise, I just do not believe it to be the case and it will simply be a b!tch fest by all involved.
