Fill the ground - cut the cost?

Putting doom, gloom and despondency to one side for a mo ...

If they really wanted fans to come and support us, to try and give us a fighting chance to stay up ...why for the last 6 or 7 home games do they not slash the prices and i mean slash them.

Offer them at £10 a shot and £5 for season tkt holders (or even an occasional free one). Youths/OAPs £5

Fat chance probably but worth a go?

Do something, please.

season ticket holders would have a fit

Yep, spot on. The club's hands are tied.

All this ST-holding Ueber Fans who reckon they love the club more will still throw a fit if SFC did something like this because of desperate financial need.

They love the club, but not if it means them being out of pocket or losing their exclusivity...

I wouldnt care at all rather see the ground fill, its my choice to buy a season ticket but can understand that some st holders would be annoyed. Why dont they then offer season ticket holders an incentive on their next season's season ticket if they pay before end of March for instance they would get a healthy discount i.e. between £70-100 per season ticket.

Again, I used to hold 4 season tickets until Lowe's return last summer and the inevitable.

But, I always advocated filling the ground on the day as its entertainment akin to going to any theatre - better when packed and what do theatres do just before they start? Sell the tickets off cheaply if they havent booked out.

I'd rather a packed stadium as I paid for my privilege of a guaranteed seat, where I had selected to be, as a ST holder.

So, yes we should drop prices.

Trouble is even if the club paid fans a quid to watch many people wouldnt come with Lowe/Wotte doing their thing.

Aye, saw so many STH's moaning about the cut price Forest tickets.

I don't think it would make much of a difference if they slashed prices. I've got a lot of friends who just don't enjoy going to SMS anymore, it's not about the money they just don't like the atmosphere, team, performances or Lowe.

I find it quite amusing that non-season ticket holders who don't go can tell me as a ST holder what I think!!

For the record no I wouldnt give a toss if they lowered ticket prices - it won't make bugger all difference to what happens on the pitch either.

For those that go and can be arsed look at Notts Forest game.....fans turned up but the players never.

I find it quite amusing that you think that you are representative of all ST holders.

Did you wave your ST book at the full stands during the ManYoo game ???

Thanks for pigeon holing all the ST holder Alpine.

As one myself I think it would be well worth doing if it helps us maintain our place in the chapionship, although I fear it is too late. I don't care about the money, I've already paid it up front and thats the chance you take.

For what its worth the other reason I'm not bothered is that Lowe/Wilde will not be getting another penny out of me, if these two clowns remain at the club my money will be spent following AFC Totton.

I buy my ticket for convenience with the added benefit of saving money.

If there was a scheme to bring fans in this season I would welcome it.

If it meant cheaper tickets for others - no problem.

However, when it comes to deciding whether to renew for next year I would be less likely to if I thought I would be paying extra for the privilege.

I buy three season tickets each year, my own and one for each of my young kids. Quite honestly I don't give a rat's a** if they lower the prices to fill the ground. Trouble is I don't think the players give a rat's a** about anything either.

I wouldn't give a toss if they cut prices, would rather see a full ground, does that make me an uber fan or not? I'm

But you are a gentleman, sir. You obviously wasnt privvy to all the bleating on here leading up to the Forest game

(oh, and how that elevated attendance helped the team, eh ??)

By whom? I remember most on here were in agreement including me and I wouldn't care if they did it on a few other occasions but it wouldn't be like you would attend anyway would it

I know this as I have had a right ding dong with posters over it..

Agree a few have moaned but I think more were in agreement. By the way have you started Taurus09 yet ;)

Frankly , the way this present shower of losers play no inducement financially would make a lot of fans go back............ the cancer is to the core......its not the cost to me and many others, its not wanting to feel as if you have been cheated out of cash for what is bolled as "entertainment".............best just keep prices as they are......... it won't be financially worth reducing prices as the take up would be minimal

I certainly think it would be interesting for the board to float the idea with the Season Ticket Holders, what's the worst that could happen if they asked?

I honestly don't think we'd get many extra through the door.

For a lot of people it really isn't a money problem, obviously that's part of the problem but a lot of people have just gotten out of the going to a game routine. A one off cheap game would only work if we put in a good performance, won and managed to keep a few of the new fans. It wouldn't happen though, we'd probably lose or draw and end up worse than before.

Nice idea in theory but we're only allowed to make a max of 4 games a season 'cut price' - league rules.

not sure about this and can't find it anywhere - how can this be right when all clubs in the league have different admission prices anyway?

Nice to see the overwhelming majority in support.

If I was a season ticket holder, I would not mind the price reduction in the circumstances, I would buy one for convenience rather than anything else. But doubt if it would dramatically alter attendances over the last few weeks anyway, will probably end up like last season with a final home game of 30000 and the revenue that goes with it......come to think of it, if we had treated every game as a potential relegation decider, we may in fact be in a healthier position. And attending games does not necessarily mean blind acceptance of what is occuring in the boardroom or on the pitch.

The title of this thread should inform the clubs ST price decision to0.

My Plan?(For CCC or L1)

£199 corners

£250 Wings/ Chapel/Northam

£300 Centre

£350 Half way

Directors box £250 K

Teens £100

Kids £50

Any 3 home games bought in advance. £50

That way we can keep match to match prices higher, and get a good return from the away fans !!!!

As usual Apline writes total crap and tries to wind up everyone else. I have had a season ticket since the late 70's when saints introduced Under West Stand Season tickets and as a true loyal supporter who loves the club, not the pratt in charge, I still have a season ticket as does my son. What's more I will still have a ST next season.

I have no problem with the club slashing prices if it makes a difference and gets more supporters into the ground. A couple of comments posted, free voucher for the saints shop or some other concession to ST holders would surely appease thiose ST holders who will complain.

My only concern is that there will idiots protesting about RL et al during the game and that will do no good. Everyone has a right to protest but IMO it does no good from the players point of view to hear negative chants during, before or as they walk off the pitch.

So, yes in favour of slashing prices, I for one do not want any concession as ST holder, but only if supporters get behind the team.

Agree with this - the money's spent, and I can't get worked up about other people saving money now. All I want is to see more people in the ground supporting the team. The support was massive yesterday even if the ground wasn't even half full, and you could see how much it meant to the players.

Kids for a quid - hmm, maybe, but not unlimited in ratio to the adults buying the tickets. Even in the family enclosure it gets annoying when you have dozens of mini-youths charging up and down, without the slightest interest in the game.

I have just read this and cannot believe a gimp like you cannot read. If it is possible, and do this slowly, please read my two posts above and tell me how I was back-pedalling. I will help you out on a couple of things in case you find it difficult taking it all in but in the first post (top) I quoted "most" were in agreement, in the second post (second from top to help you out) I quoted "more" were in agreement. To me most and more are the same but spelt differently depending on the reply to which it refers. I suggest you read the posts to which either refers before passing on your typical alpine repost. As for arguing a post you are the past master with the ability to change a post to suit your own agenda

Hang on a minute you singled Alpine out, even though others have also said season tickets holders will moan, and then go on to offer a solution to something you are claiming only exists in Alpine's mind.

I am certain that season ticket holders will moan if the price of games were slashed.
