OldNick Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 it will be sold to the highest bidder, it is hardly a secret. We have a few builders developers connected with the club and they are not all mates. It hasnt at present got massive value anyway has it? Barfy Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 As with all assets of SLH, if Lowe wants to buy them he'll have to bid like everyone else. If it comes down to asset stripping, the administrators have to get top dollar on behalf of the creditors.

Doctoroncall Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 Hopefully a fan will buy it and give it back to the club so that when it does maximise it's value, the club will benefit as first intended... but I'm not holding my breathe on it! Oh I think we've all learned a huge amount about all sorts of things we would never have otherwise bothered our pretty little heads about: oil gas hedge funds administration pre-packs contamination planning permission stock market I've wasted two years of my life on all the shenanigans about takeovers etc. but boy, have I learned stuff
stevegrant Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 What are the chances that Ru**rt and friends will try to buy Jackson Farm for pennies on the dollar from the administrator? The cynic in me believes that to e a really good chance. If he offers more money than anyone else then yes, he does stand a good chance of buying Jackson's Farm. It'll be a number of years before anything can/will happen on that site, so it would require someone with the ready funds to buy it now but with the patience to wait 10 years+ to see a return. In the current economical climate, I can't imagine there are many people who fit that description, and I certainly wouldn't put Lowe in that bracket. Or was that deal made in 1989 when we were only SFC Ltd nul and void with the administration of the PLC. Now JF was originally owned by the FC Ltd, at some time it must have been transferred to the PLC I suppose as they're said to own it, how could that be when Bovis have first crack at it until April 2009?. a1ex2001 Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 More to the point, what's the chance of him buying the football club? Exactly, there are only three assets we should be interested in the Football Club, The Stadium and Staplewood in that order with the club being a massive priority. I couldn't care less who make money out of some farm I'm a footy fan not a property developer fan.

pilsburydoughboy Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 Reading between the lines we will not be in administration for long. Barclays refused any more over draft to force Rupert and his cronies out as the club would be a more attractive deal without the current board. Happy days are just over the hill. Saint Fan CaM Posted 3 April, 2009 Share Posted 3 April, 2009 Ah, I wonder whether Rupes and Mike the slug will be coming back for more than Jacksons Farm. What about SMS itself? It's propery afterall and they're both into that kinda thing. Perhaps Lowe wants to re-develop SMS as retirement homes in a bizarre 'reverse take-over' type affair!!!
