Shroppie Posted 11 April, 2009 Share Posted 11 April, 2009 Massive. The fat lady is definitely now clearing her voice. A win Monday is a must and have to hope Norwich and Forest lose. If we lose and Forest win, it's as good as over
Made in Southampton Posted 11 April, 2009 Share Posted 11 April, 2009 tbh Dexter Blackstock scoring doesn't really suprise me. Theres that many ex-saints players out there that the % of one of them popping up and doing something like this is quite high.
.comsaint Posted 11 April, 2009 Share Posted 11 April, 2009 Monday's fixtures: Saints v Palace Norwich v Watford Sheff Utd v Forest Barnsley v Swansea We have to hope that we win against Palace (well what's the point otherwise?) and I expect Norwich to win at home to Watford. I can't see Forest getting anything at Bramall Lane against promotion-chasing Sheffield United. Barnsley to beat Swansea at home too. * Updated btw. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=11151

Crouchie's Lawyer Posted 11 April, 2009 Share Posted 11 April, 2009 Lets just pray that we dont get hit with a 10 point deduction next season as starting League 1 on -10 will mean more than likely we will end up in that division for more than one year

Actually no We are - 20, Forest -18 We win Monday and they lose and we will be within 1 point and atleast the same goal difference

I always thought he was pretty useful tbh. Anyone know why QPR let him go on loan? Seems strange that one!
Saint Stimp Posted 11 April, 2009 Share Posted 11 April, 2009 I've stayed pretty positive up until this point.. but I'm finally going to have to admit it's over for us in this league.. Credit to Forest.

Flyer Posted 11 April, 2009 Share Posted 11 April, 2009 Anyone know why QPR let him go on loan? Seems strange that one! He wasnt getting enough games for him, also there was a contract dispute earlier this year. He wanted 15k and Flav said no, hes going to forest for £2m if Forest stay up. Didn't realise he'd fallen-out with the club for whatever reason. Their loss is Forest's gain I guess.

I think he was worth that, hes not worth 15k/week or £2m IMO so the loan was a good move, albeit strange if you dont know what was happening. ulstersaint Posted 11 April, 2009 Share Posted 11 April, 2009 tbh Dexter Blackstock scoring doesn't really suprise me. Theres that many ex-saints players out there that the % of one of them popping up and doing something like this is quite high. Not including the players sold for big money transfers (ie Beattie, Theo, Crouch, Bale, Jones - and where did the money go?) there are several ex-Saints players doing well at other clubs: Blackstock (QPR and Forest) Kevin Davies (Bolton) Oakley (Derby & Leicester) Delap, Higginbotham & Fuller (Stoke) Miek Taylor (Birmingham) Monk (Swansea) And some loanees: Dyer (Swansea) Rasiak (Watford) John (Bristol City) And we are stuck with dross like BWP, Smith, McGoldrick, Wotton, Gasmi, Pulis, Molyneaux etc. Makes me think there is something deeply wrong at our club because we consistently get rid of decent players and then sign inferior replacements. sadoldgit Posted 11 April, 2009 Share Posted 11 April, 2009 I wouldn't say that Dexter has set the world alight since leaving us. He is an average CCC player nothing more. Didn't make the grade at QPR and is now with a side fighting relegation (might just have well stayed then!). Put your mone on him to send us down though! But what is odd is that how many ex-players come back to haunt us either directly or indirectly. I would be interested in the stats but we must be high on the list of ex players who come back and score against us. Even Shipperley managed it when he couldn't buy a goal against anyone else! Leicestersaint Posted 11 April, 2009 Share Posted 11 April, 2009 Sorry everyone but i do really think we're going down this year. What a fall in five years - and yet there are those ex-Saints playing elsewhere. What a bloody disaster.
