lordswoodsaints Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 rattling around in that big stadium next season. with relegation comes low crowds,we struggled to half fill it for most of the season in this league so i reckon 10k-12k tops for next season in L1. Griffo Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 Naaaaah. Teams like Millwall get 8k. We shouldn't dip below 10k once. I'd expect an average of about 13-15. Depends on our form really.. Could get up to 20k with the correct pricing structures as well as the football being good and the team on form.
rocknrollman no2 Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 Perhaps as well as closing the corners,we could also close the Chapel and Kingsland stands as well? It would also save on the stewards and the policing bill. I dont know why nobodys ever thought of cutting costs before? Oh hang on?
exit2 Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 this is where the new owners need to win the fans over etc. Like said above, corect pricing structure, good pr, hopefully good results we will be ok

rocknrollman no2 Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 Well Leeds still had big gates when they were relegated. Oh i know theres not much else to do in Yorkshire, except maybe breed wippets and pigeons etc,but surely given the right circumstances like cheaper STs,kids for a quid etc, then perhaps we can at least keep the attendance to the levels of this season? Daren W Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 No. I tend to think that if we're still in business then the spirit of Southampton will kick in and we'll actually surprise a lot of people and pull in crowds of 18,000 plus. The absence of Lowe Wilde and co might actually mean some sort of feel good factor and if the club can reduce prices, get kids in the ground and actively go on the charm offensive then I think we'll be just fine and dandy... egreog Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 It all depends on the overall picture...........if they start to show a bit of effort, fans will make an effort whatever league it is..........if they continue with the present comedy act , taking the mickey out of the loyalty of supporters then it will dwindle alarmingly........the equation is not difficult, but knowing Saints they will make a complete boll** of the whole thing! acersaint Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 I have supported the Saints for over 40 years and whilst what has happened to my club rips my heart out I am the eternal optimist ( is that why I am a loyal Saint) and if we have to go down to rise again like a phoenix from the ashes then so be it because NO matter what I will always be a Saint. Roll on next season!!!!

docker-p Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 Leicester were getting 20K+ and we're a bigger club. Just get the pricing right, £18 a ticket, get on a role with a decent manager and we'll happily get 24-25K I promise you. If we can get 16K watching us loose every bloody week and pay £24 to do so, I dont think thats unrealistic.
John B Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 (edited) Next season will be my 48th season following the Saints but it is getting harder every year the first 28 were pretty good the next 20 not that good except for 2003 and the last five dire. So Roll on next season!!!! Edited 18 April, 2009 by John B

nathan Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 I seriously think that £15 for adults, £10 for concessions and we could get about 20k a week if we start to perform well. A lot of fans just want to see us win as opposed to who we are playing against. Season tickets for £250.
crouchi Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 Those prices would have been OK for this year, but I think it's time to call it a day
Paul Chuckle Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 I think the club need to charge £250 for a season ticket next season and thats a fair price IMO in the current climate and how sh*t the team has been the last few seasons, That price is a decent realistic one. Also make all under 16s season tickets £23 for a season!!!!!!!!! I think Sunderland do the same thing
Saints foreva Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 I think, with decent ownership, we will average 20,000. Depending on the form. If we somehow find ourselves up there and winning a lot of games.. We should easily get 20,000 through the gates. However, if we struggle, I fear we will only manage 10k. I for one will be there no matter what. I will renew my season ticket the first day the club take renewals. Sometimes I even go when I really don't want to. I always manage to find myself in my seat at St Marys at home games no matter how low and negative I feel. I guess thats just the problem with this club, since the first day I set eyes on them I have been addicted. Shame the only decent things I have experienced is the FA Cup Final 2003. In 1966 when we got promoted the stars were probably Paine and Chivers one and England International the other a future one both home grown - players of that nature like Bale Walcott and Jones will be off to the Premiership and never play many games for us. alehouseboys Posted 19 April, 2009 Share Posted 19 April, 2009 Relegation and administration galvanised their supporters and I believe they've had bigger crowds these last 2 years than their relegation year. Hopefully we'll see the same effect. Last week Leicester had their most attractive game of the season against Leeds and could have secured promotion, they pulled in 25,000 - 7,000 under capacity. There must have been 3-4000 Leeds fans making the 80-mile trip. I've no doubt had that been us in that position SMS wouldn't have been big enough that day. I agree, £250 for a ST and get the fans back.

OldNick Posted 19 April, 2009 Share Posted 19 April, 2009 12-14k will be the norm and will swing up or down whether we are doing ok or not. If we dont go back up the crowds will soon fall to 8k. I think that there was a report out a cseason or so ago saying we are the most pessimistic fans and we had lost the most games in the country over the last 20 or so years.I find it remarkable that we have such a loyal fan base.
