Great to see dave jones and beattie made the effort, and david howells! i thought he was class in his short time at saints, always had a good attitude and fighting spirit. Jeff Le Taxi Posted 26 April, 2009 Share Posted 26 April, 2009 Anyone know who the Eastleigh goalkeeper is in the early photos with Benali in the tunnel ? looks suspiciously like Adam Gage!
Bailey Posted 26 April, 2009 Share Posted 26 April, 2009 Just been a mini-feature on this game on SSN. Interviewing Saints stars from past and present, all expressing their sadness at our plight. What I'd give to have the likes of Beattie, Oakley, Claus, Killer and Le Tiss in our side.

I too saw this,MLT's comment about trying to gain promotion even with starting on -10 "that would stick two fingers up at the football league" did make me chuckle. Block 5 Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 I had a great day out. Took the Mrs and the kids and they loved it. It was great to see the old faces and it made for a welcome distraction from the current situation. Many thanks to everyone at Eastleigh FC for a warm welcome and for organising a fantastic day for Hughsie.
david in sweden Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 http://www.4es.co.uk/davidhughes from The Farmer Was a great day with lots of old faces Great pics.! seeing all those old faces smiling along together.....almost makes the last 10 years seem like one of those Hollywood fantasy movies, where you suddenly wake up..... and find out it was all a bad dream....... unfortunately, it was reality, but good to see so many familiar faces again. I know it was a charity game but what was the score BTW ? ..goalscorers ?
Toomer Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 What we would give for a few of them in our line up now.
corky morris Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 Great photos. I love the one where Tessem, Svensson, Telfer & Claus have got there jeans on & Tessem is standing there with a carrier bag! Proper Sunday morning footy! Been out the night before - wake up somewhere you shouldnt - phone mate & tell him to pick your boots up or you cant play - turn up at football in last nights clothes to a cheer from the lads! Brilliant!
Give it to Ron Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 I was listening to Mike Osman on Radio Hants before the game and he was talking about the next fundraising game...he was not very complimentary about the numpties on here who accused him and Lawrie of dipping their hands into the pot for appearance money! They also interviewed Tessem who stated he again wanted to come back to Saints and felt he could play at that level again. We all want to carry on playing at the level we did at our prime the trouble is time and age sees that we can't and Jo should realise that. The Farmer Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 It was a really good day, everyone had a smile on their face and there was lots of banter!! Everything that has been missing from the SFC set up for quite some time sadly. I couldn't really keep track of the score as was asked to be three places at once to get snaps behind the scenes, but think it was 5-0. When I pointed the camera at Mike Osman he quipped that he hoped these pics weren't going to the IR as it was a cash in hand job. Had a quick chat with Hiley, who now works on Premier League Web Site, he said he left Saints of his own accord and wryly commented he thinks he is one of the very few to leave the club without a pay-off!! When I shot Groves and Heaney, Perry said what is this photo for, 'Who was the biggest waste of money!!' He then joked he would be behind Dixon and Speedie in that list anyhow!! Tiss Jr and Channon Jr both got run outs. The Executive Lounge was overflowing with Woggy gallantly trying to maintain order and a lot of staff and players went on to the Buddha Lounge for a few drinks later in the evening, again all laughing a joking about the good old days at Saints. If only we could a few of these faces involved in a any new set up we'd be dandy.
