Saints better move than Swansea for Tisdale?

I agree with the poster on the Exeter forum; Saints would be a better move for Tisdale.

Realistically, I can't see Swansea pushing on any further. They've lost their manager and rumours are going round suggesting that their key players, such as Jason Scotland, are also set to leave.

The same applies to Exeter too IMO. They've been brilliant in recent seasons and getting into League One is a massive achievement for them, but do they have what it takes to maintain their success? The best they can hope for is to preserve their League One status, so Tisdale may need to leave to further his own career.

If Tisdale took over at Saints, he'd have a chance to build us up again and get us back into The Championship, with the long-term ambition of pushing on into the EPL.

PT strikes me as a man who likes to build his own side and he'd have a great chance to do that here. Add to that the fact that he has previous ties with Saints and it could be an attractive job for him.

Interesting how many of them say what he has achieved over the last two seasons is purely luck and Perryman.

Yes, I couldn't work out whether they actually rate him or not. Many said it was more down to Perryman and others said he was a lucky manager. This could have been a bluff towards the Swansea fan?

Mind you, I wouldn't mind a lucky manager for once!

Spoken to him regularly from his time working at Bath, But Is he the type of manager needed to take us beyond the championship?

I don’t think so.

Yes but we are already beyond the championship. He might be able to get us back into it and that would do me for the next two or three years.

tbh don't really know him well, just feel it would be really positive long term appointment with no baggage to unite us etc.

Sorry football fans have never been united. If Tisdale was brought in i get the feeling that many fans would be hugely underwhelmed. Certainly i believe Perryman has been key to what Tisdale has achieved. Fans will be saying multi millionaire owner and he brings in a budget basement manager.

He MAY BE multi millionaire but no guarantee he is going to spend it on a manager

Steady on. You make Swansea sound like Wigan . . . . . or Saints.

I doubt it will be Tisdale for manager at Swans. New manager supposed to be announced on Friday. So with Martinez officially resigning tomorrow, the timing of the approach for Speed makes sense.

Speed ticks a lot of boxes and is ready now for his chance IMHO. I'm not putting any money on it though.

Reads to me as if they know they wont be able to hold on to him.

You dont make that sort of statement and then rollover when someone comes calling. I would say hes going nowhere for at least a year and to be honest. He is clearly a double act with Perryman anyway.
