  1. 5 times their regular support though
  2. other than Crouch paying the wages the rest of the money raised is peanuts, and imo, not effecting the situation
  3. Millwall fans are more fickle than ours. 50k at Wembley 10k average
  4. Yes and i was not promoting his case just pointing out that we are unlikely to have a new owner with pots of money and that the club is going to have to be re built from bottom upwards, as it was in late 50's and early 60's. We have to forget where we have been over thelast 50 years and start again or we will constantly be at war with owners and managers and players
  5. mine does sometimes but not all the time ?
  6. staggered by some of what i have just read on this thread, we are in div 3 , potless on the verge of being extinct and some are slagging off what looks like are only real offer. realism has to kick in guys , there is no multi billionaire mooring his yacht in Ocean Village or landing his helicopter at SMS. WE are just going to have to start building from within slowly like Ted did in the early 60's
  7. when is realism going to kick in we are in the same division as them , potless , why will they want to come here. imo the only way out for us is to find our own non league stars
  8. when is realism going to kick in, we are in the old division 3 next season if you see the goals on South at Six with Roger Johnston it will be a bonus.
  9. just get on with the whole sorry mess
  10. who is paying for all this jet setting? he must be paying for himself ?
  11. Will what has gone regarding "boycotts" effect potential investors in SFC? IMO no Any one who comes into football as an owner, irrespective of the club, must know it is a fickle business and that the only real way to achieve success is on the pitch with a very good squad of 16 players. Crowds , 90% of the time, depend on success at home on the pitch, good facilities, megastores, ticket offices etc help but the average football fan would put up with them being crap if its team wins most games or at least looks like it is likely to win. The numbers boycotting because of Lowe, despite the people sitting next to GM,COULD BE COUNTED IN THEIR hundreds only. The vast majority stayed away because of the poor product on the pitch. Now you could argue that was because of Lowe too , but that is a different thread
  12. that is my conclusion the more snippets that come out, they just gave up and walked away
  13. ok just seems to me that we just waved the white flag
  14. in theory i agree but in practice ever company that has a bounced cheque does not go into admin. they trade their way out of it and find alternative sources of finance we appear to have done nothing except give up
  15. admin seems like the easy option for Lowe and Wilde. Small businesses, up and down the country, face problems the owners borrow money secured on their assets etc. we seem to have had a couple of bounced cheques and folded without a fight. if they had walked away would Crouch have funded the club until the season ticket money came in, also after we went into admin we had two home games with better than average attendances and presumably income.
  16. Best team in the country in those days by far. the plug was pulled after relegation to save costs although to be far the glory days had passed as other clubs caught up and overtook us
  17. Missed the worst offenders i submit the Directors of 1997 ASKHAM and WISEMAN

    Leon Crouch

Sums it up for me whether you like Crouch or not is irrelevant he is still trying to help whereas others are showing their true colours, including people like Wiseman and Thompson who made a lot of money selling their shares. the board members who set us down the great shareholding democracy in 1997 must be very proud of their achievements
  19. +1 bored to tears just want to start talking about players and games etc, completely fed up with this phoney war period we are in now
  20. agreed Vidic is quite prepared to find row 26 when required. our problem we had young lads like Lancashire and Gobern who had been told to bring it down and play it which works fine at staplewood where the cones did not tackle but they were never told the old maxim which has always applied in football from top level to under 7 " if in doubt kick it out"
  21. DISAGREE league 1 football is very like CCC football if you want to be successful, it is about playing in the right areas, hoofing it when required, dealing with set plays at both ends of the pitch. all the things our dutch experiment did not deem important until it was to late
  22. nah it is not Friday
