  1. Rocky , the story of a punch drunk football club
  2. A GOOD EARNER, clubs going into Administration. Strange i specialise in corporate recovery work and we cannot charge what it costs for admin work
  3. Burnley small crowds but a classic example of get it right on the field with a small first team squad of good solid players , not a huge squad of average players
  4. a very good question and other than rapid promotions and then offer to buy , or laundering money i cannot think of a good business reason unless you could turn the Hospitality Suites into a nightclub and Dell Bar into a popular pub
  5. think it goes back to that season we were 8 points in front with only a few games to go and they pipped us for promotion after Charlie Wayman was injured, before my time so not 100% sure
  6. i know they gave me a good hiding in 71 at White Hart Lane
  7. A TRAINING GROUND or stadium?
  8. sums up my feelings
  9. when i read the thread title i thought we had been kicked out of the football league
  10. the plumber should be here to mend my shower
  11. LESS than an hour to go but feel it will be cancelled because someone will remember it is not Friday
  12. lots of lateral thinking needed now by some , the club will NOT be the same again after this. Any new owner , at an £8m purchase, is not going to have vast sums to buy players etc, we will need to exist like most clubs on gate income and other commercial income, hence why the Rugby world cup news is good
  13. The report on Solent was prefixed by "the BBC understands" no facts until Fry opens his mouth in a public place with witnesses
  14. sounds about right except to get promoted we will need a good start so your average up to November will be at least 16k
  15. Not sure if i am or not. a lot depends on whether we get a good start or not, good start gates of near 20k momentum builds but bad start 14k and the "do not give a dam" thoughts will emerge. Realism needs to kick in for many, we are likely to have little money, unknown players whose committment will be their strength rather than skill. It is going to be a lot different more than many expect
  16. hopefully a wage cap will beintroduced in football and utd and co throw their toys out like Ferrari
  17. are you stalking me? no i am not his agent but i have been impressed with his team this season, whilst they did not gain promotion, they played the sort of football we will need to get out of div 3. They mixed up skill and strength, he knows the players in the lower leagues and non leagues
  18. but if we had won a few more home games earlier in the season, gates would have been up , income up and no administration. As the Finance Director said the 81% wage to turnover was a temporary blip which was already on its way down at the end of June last year(2008), Ultimately, imo, the decision taken over the manager and team selection method was what led to admin because of the attendance drop. Everyone keeps concentrating on cost cutting but any businessman in the private sector will tell you that is only half of the equation , the other is maintaining income or increasing it.
  19. arn't the fiscal and football decisions linked , just like SLH and SFC ? Other than SFC what other decisions were there, whilst he always said it was a results driven business he forgot that it was results on the field that ultimately effect the fiscal ones
  20. But richer than the other two idiots
  21. at what level? imo he would be a good solid division 3 player, which is what we are in now.
  22. Do not panic , it is tuesday not friday
  23. we have all been lambs to the slaughter as we charge into the valley of death over the last 6 years
  24. all to complicated i will just wait for the news conference or my preferred method of looking at big yachts in Ocean Village
