  1. The key is that if its a derby to their players then ours have to treat it like that as well. They are high tempo so we need to match that or have no chance.
  2. This thread is pretty damning. We are massive relegation candidates. In truth, probably the side most likely to drop after Cardiff and Hudds.
  3. Repeat post, but: Its pretty clear we have no money, hence we begged Liverpool to let us have Ings on loan, so we can pay for him in a different accounting year. Our whole business model relies on selling for good cash. If we can't do that then we will have little cash to spend. We splashed out quite a bit this summer. I expect very minimal outlay in January.
  4. All IMHO of course, Morph
  5. Ross Wilson has watched Dryden a number of times and hasn't been impressed and his judgement of a centre half is exemplary. Now: Trotman or Powell?
  6. That wasn't the question.
  7. If you had to sign one of them to replace Wesley Hoedt, who would it be?
  8. Surely we won't sign another CB as would have to probably let two of our current ones go which we won't be able to do. In addition, its pretty clear we have no money, hence we begged Liverpool to let us have Ings on loan, so we can pay for him in a different accounting year. 9. The much changed team still did well (better) for another two years. Things have got stale and worse since Gao.
  10. Re defensive yrwining and Italy - any player who has played in Italy and England has always said they do far more tactical work there. Its a far more tactical league. Re Hughes - he won't turn it around. But do we trust them to get anyone better? Probably not. That said, an early move gives more options.
  11. 1. No chance of winning the next two. A PL win is very hard to grind out if you are rubbish, let alone two in a row. 2. It would just come back at a later point. All the pieces of the OP are valid, regardless of a couple of results.
  12. We will probably be relegated if one of Huddersfield or Newcastle can generate a small bit of momentum. No way we are getting more than 38 points.
  13. He won't get many mentions but IMO the player who instantly improved us the most was Dejan Lovren. A huge upgrade on what we had before. Overall: Lovren, Wanyama, Mane
  14. Its crap if your team is crap but fantastic if your team is doing well. Bournemouth fans probably loving modern football just now, as we did 3/4 years ago.
  15. He is a private man, and probably hasn't even told Krueger why he has bought the club. At the fans forum that much seemed clear.
  16. Ownership - more than a year and still no idea what Gao is doing here let alone actually speaking to the customers of his business. All we can conclude is this takeover was a very negatove move from a supporter perspective. Boardroom - Reed going further into his shell after 3 poor years and two, possibly three poor managerial appointments. Wilson has more responsibility yet a largely woeful recruitment record, culminating in a poorly balanced, bloated squad where the highest paid player is our third GK with 0 minutes played. Add to this a Chairman whose public comments are largely delusional and seemingly no CEO in the organisation structure. Who actually runs the business side of the club now? Manager - went the whole pre season with 3 CBs then binned it after 60mins versus Burnley and again today. Recruitment clearly made with this formation in mind. Chops and changes players and systems but with seemingly no clue what is the best and with which players - after quite a lot of games. Little suprise the club is performing badly - there is no plan, no cohesion and no direction - at all levels.
  17. Bournemouth have what we don't: pace, energy, a clear style of play, ambition to wins games and confidence.
  18. Listen to Gary Neville's United comments and they could be just as valid of it were Saints. The Manager isn't the biggest problem and a new one won't be the solution.
  19. I do. Under Pochettino and Koeman I thought we had a major chance, especially at home. Mostly because we had a sprinkling of top 6 quality players in those teams, attackers who could hurt anyone and a solid defence.
  20. Hughes presser mostly consisted of him saying he is confident our home form will improve without offering any auggestions as to why, and mentioning that we just haven't had many home games under his tenure, overlooking failure to beat any of Burnley, Brighton or Leicester this season.
  21. http://www.onzemondial.com/transferts/om-lille-enzo-robise-jeune-pepite-southampton-174476 Arguably our best academy talent from the pieces I have seen. Marseille and Lille have tried to poach him.
  22. Pochettino was the breakthrough at PL level. He took us from a relegation fighting team to an upper midtable side but one with a style that was clear and that thenplayers clearly believed in. He changed the perception of Saints as a PL club (probably briefly as we now find ourselves in back to back relegation scraps). Easily the best Saints manager of my lifetime because of the transformative effect he had. Koeman obviously superb too. Shame we couldn't keep either of them as its been firmly downhill since then.
  23. Hoedt filmed a Sky interview today at Staplewood so can't be that much of a problem. Plus he was on the bench last night.
  24. He missed his last pen but I would go for him over four of our five takers tonight. Strange not to bring him on IMO.
  25. Good win, sounded like we were decent although from radio Yoshida a bit shaky. Mad from Hughes aside from the strong selection though, Davis an odd sub and to not bring on Austin and JWP for pens was utterly bizarre, despite the fact we won. We are very reliant on Redmond for creativity, need him fit all season.
