    Stadium PA

Its much better since they pushed the awful My Way song back and added the montage and louder music. Its meant to generate an atmosphere and it helps I think.
  2. Palace do have a decent attacking lineup in theory and haven't been able to field Zaha, RLC and Benteke together yet so I wouldn't totally discount them although its obviously a tough position. We will likely be bottom 6 at Christmas due to our fixtures and the poor start we have had relative to the opposition played. So far we have been lucky with injuries but would certainly suffer if either full back, or Romeu/Lemina were out for any real period. I don't think we will go down, but during the season I certainly think the table will be grim reading in spells.
  3. I haven't booed him, home or away, nor sung his name. I can understand why he got the reaction he did at Palace where there were quite a few boos but it should have ended there, point made. What is the point when he is on the pitch, being one of our best players and trying to help us win? He knows he will have ****ed off Saints fans. No need to focus on it during a game at the detriment of the team.
  4. Very disappointed to hear booing for Nathan Redmond as he entered the pitch yesterday. He isn't in great form but always puts a shift in and tries his best. No Saints fan should be booing one of our players, let alone when he is clearly struggling for confidence. He did quite well when he came on I thought. I wonder what is the difference that means Redmond gets booed for trying hard but playing poorly yet some people stood up to applaud Shane Long off the pitch having played in exactly the same way? He is judged on some kind of other criteria for some reason? On that topic, its the same with Fraser Forster and the ironic cheers when he claims a ball. He is pretty terrible just now but that is hardly going to help him. Pretty bizarre really to do that to a player of the team you support, during a tight and must win match.

    Boufal

Pellegrino somewhat playing down the Boufal hype afterwards, which I fimd intriguing. Talking about the physicality of English football and that you can lose a game with any action so the time needs to be right to have someone like Boufal on the pitch. Certainly didn't sound like he is a definite starter at Brighton. That central role is his best position by a mile. Similarly, I thought Tadic was very good today as well.
  6. Brilliant goal gets us a much needed win. Diamond formation suits Tadic (and Boufal) but does lack width. Nice to see Pellegrino try something else though. VVD excellent and Bertrand much more like his usual self. We still don't test the opposition keeper nesrly enough though and one worldie goal doesn't change that. Re Boufal - he has made an impact in his last 3 subs apps and deserves a run of starts now. Like how he turns on the ball instead of just passing it back to where it came from. Only disappointments for me were WBA time wasting and Shane Long who again showed the sort of touch I saw on Wednesday at Lewes vs Corinthian Casuals. Has had a decent run now and hasn't got close to a goal or even a decent shot.
  7. Need a win today or the chance of being dragged into the bottom 3 soon becomes ever higher.

    Claude Puel

The decision to fire him was right even if the replacement isn't working out too well so far. Would be a poor appointment from Leicester for all the reasons he was deemed a failure here, namely that he cannot communicate with supporters.
  9. Which of the comments are way off?
  10. Should have got rid in the summer. Hopefully we do in January. With two of our three strikers being Austin and Long it kind of shows why we have struggled. One is utter ****e at anything involving a football and the other is overweight, unfit and one paced (very slow).
  11. The sooner Andy Durman brings his coaching badges to this thread, the better.
  12. Ward Prowse is into his 6th PL season. He looks better because he is playing against worse, younger players with less experience. He should be above playing in U23 games apart from when coming back from an injury. Hopefully having to do this will motivate him.
  13. Absolute rubbish. He plays until we sell him because he is our best player and if we don't play him then we should have sold him in the summer. Booing and putting him in the reserves benefits literally nobody.
  14. He is utter ****e.
  15. One thing that stood out for me was that when Yedlin fouled Redmond and should have got a second yellow, literally none of our players (even the captain) were in the ear of the ref. I don't think any of our players even mentioned it. Too nice/naive at times in many aspects of the game.
  16. Poor performance. Poor result. Poor points tally given the opponents faced. Poor season so far. Will likely be in the bottom third most of the season I think. Only positive - Gabbi scoring again
  17. Massive game tomorrow. League table doesn't make for good reading given we had the kindest fixtures in the league to start with yet are level or behind some poor teams. Given we have failed to score in 8 of the last 9 home games that HAS to cbange otherwise its relegation battle time.
  18. Considering who we have played so far (and how much tougher it gets), the league table looks really ****. If we don't get min 7 points from the next four games then we are in the relegation scrap I think.
  19. Who is JWP competing with for a place in our team? 6th PL season and he isn't closer to getting in as a holding player, nor an attacking midfielder. IMO his best position is wide right but few teams will select a one paced player out there, especially without a targetman to take advantage of his crossing ability. He is a decent player, is having and will have a good career. But there is no doubt the club give him so much airtime because a.) He is from the Academy b.) He is a nice lad c.) He is from the Academy d.) He is from the Academy Hopefully soon someone else might emerge because you can't keep saying how great the Academy is and use a poster boy who hasn't nailed a place in 6 years since graduating from it, no matter how nice he is.

    Gordan Strachan

    Its now 2017 btw.
  21. In a team that has very, very few players with a decent goal record then Shane Long cannot start as the striker. Surely nobody disputes that any longer?
  22. Then we should be seriously worried. We have a continuation of kind fixtures for another month and then it gets tough. We need 2 wins from the next 4 or we are in the **** I think.
  23. Playing those 3 together would be a bizarre, dysfunctional forward line.
  24. Which bits are wrong?
  25. Out of Davis, Redmond, Boufal and Tadic, Dusan is the one I would pick every time. Rarely wastes a ball. Easily the best at combining with the full back snd whilst goes down easily when fouled he stands up well to the physical aspect and is strong, especially when backing in. Has been our best attacking player of late, even when hamstrung playing with the hapless Shane Long to link with. Tadic is far from our biggest problem, but an easy scapegoat with less intelligent fans (the ones who suggest Long as a winger) because he tries things.
