What division are they in?

Read the first four words again and question your sanity.

For a club who promotes the Academy so much it is interesting that when we were in the relegation trouble last season a lot of first team players suddenly cropped up in the line up. The line up tonight is reserve rather than developmental. Expect more of the same to try and get promoted. Disappointing from Saints. If JWP and Hojbjerg aren't good enough to get near first team starts then get rid of them or loan them out. Don't block young players from playing which is the whole point of the U23s.

Awful loan move for him, and they won't even play him up front. Feel for the lad after success last season. Nothing to suggest he will make it at Saints though.
-
Agree. A win gives a bit of a buffer to counteract our tough run. A loss or draw puts us even more in the **** than we already are and would mean we will have to beat a top 6 side to avoid being in the bottom 3 at the end of December. Annoying not to have Romeu. Abaolutely crucial Lemina is back otherwise we are screwed.

Gao 'open to offers for Gabbiadini, Long and Austin'
Dusic replied to DuncanRG's topic in The Saints
When you think of the stick some other players get and then look at Long over the last 18 months its laughable. He is a terrible player earning probably £60k a week. To think what Long, Austin, Hojbjerg and Gardos get paid in a week! -
Be careful what you wish for. There is a lot of good Reedo has done in terms of the structure of the club. The biggest problem IMO is the constraints placed on Managers which stops the more established from being interested. After we finished 6th we surely could have attracted better than Puel - they all want to manage in the PL of course. Koeman was good because he was a big, dominant character who united fans and at least initially had the respect of the players. He rubbed Reed up the wrong way at times but maybe that sort of honesty is what we need, not just yes men grateful for the chance. When Koeman was slated for saying our young players weren't good enough....he was spot on.

Club Twitter has become very poor of late, culminating with the ludicrous "played for both" quiz ahead of this week's game. If Jim Lucas is tired of the FA being a cluster**** we should try and re-sign him, although I suspect Reedo would even mess up those negotiations.
-
Does seem to be the profile of attacker we need IMO. Crying out for a strong, powerful player, not another predator type.
-
Matip is out for them so will likely be Lovren and Klavan at the back - not a secure pairing. Lemina's mobility a huge miss for us against them. Not a game for JWP.
-
Romeu one yellow away from a ban I believe.

Then what was the point in keeping him in the summer and causing all the uncertainty? Fair enough sell in the summer but if we let him go in Jan then it seems pointless to have made that stance given he will have only made about 10 additional starts. Especially if we are in a relegation battle, selling your best player isn't a good move. Plus, as Reedo always tells us (and we found with Fonte), January isn't a good time to source quality players.
-
At least one of them will start because they are better than anyone else we have. Who are these fabled "youngsters"? Sims, who is injured? McQueen, who is a left back? The new Bale that we have all missed apart from you? Please, do tell.
-
We chose to play Lewis and it didnt impact the result. If you are going to moan about a keeper then its surely McCarthy, the no2 keeper doesn't challenge an out of form no1? The one who gets paid a lot more than Taylor and keeps getting injured. The one who was brought in to challenge Forster, not to act as a third choice backup that every team needs but rarely, if ever, uses. Taylor is no3 and would only play in an injury crisis, just like every other team's third choice keeper. Is that a major issue?
-
Stuart Taylor was clearly signed to be a backup. Every team has one, he isn't a problem and if he is a good character then thats a good thing. He is probably doing coaching badges at the same time. We have problems but Stuart Taylor is not one of them.
-
Confidence must be shot with a 34 year old Daryl Murphy selectes ahead of him for the two biggest Ireland games of the last year. Bordering on being unselectable for me.
-
It would be great if we did it. Its exactly what we did to take Adkins from S****horpe but we don't have the clout to do it to other PL sides, just like we never go after established PL players even from lesser sides.
-
Everything about Saints recruitment policy suggests we won't waste a lot of wages on players who have seen their best days. Rightly so IMO, although Walcott is intriguing. Leave West Ham to take Torres.
-
Will be a massive blow to not have Lemina for this one. He would be ideal against the quick feet of their players.
-
I would be suprised if he is a better player than Davis. Certainly not an instant upgrade.
-
Not really?????????
-
Tell that to the 3 Saints Managers who have ignored him and all the other PL sides who let us sign him with limited competition. Just because Long is utterly **** and Gabbi not suited to a no9 role, it doesn't suddenly make Austin the answer.
-
He will score in the Championship because, should we make him available, no PL sides would want him. Telling that.
