Result matters more! Lose and we are right in the **** IMO.
-
Anyone who seriously wants Reed out has lost the plot.
-
Should have implemented the points system they advertised when they switched to the swipe card. Points for home and away fixtures based on popularity and points counted across a rolling 3 year period. Clear, easy and loads of other clubs do it.
-
A midfielder who can run for 90mins would be my no1 target. We are so one paced and easy to.counter attack because we have never replaced Schneiderlin effectively. Otherwise pretty much agree with yours. Wouldn't be shocked if Bertrand and Forster maybe feel they have done their time here, Tadic also potentially.

One is a naturally injury prone striker and the other is a non scoring striker. Seems like a good bloke does Long but when he figures as people's favourite player in a PL side its not going to be an especially good one. I find him extremely frustrating to watch because he has such little composure.

Amazed at the amount of people mentioning Austin and Long!

Ever: MLT, Lambert, Lallana Now: VVD aside nobody

Lets be honest, as at the start of this season he wasn't worth a new contract. He had 2 years to go on this current one and had endured a very disappointing season last year, failing to get into a L1 team. He has done really well this season which is great and Im sure Saints will be trying at the right time to offer him a new deal - to protect a value increasing asset if nothing else. Can hardly blame them in this case for the action they have taken. If Gallagher accept or rejects that offer when it comes is up to him.
-
Its a panic buy and also a must buy and will be welcomed as the best option available to us at this time. Lets hope a.) Caceres does well and b.) The club learns from their **** up.

Big summer striker wise. Decisions to be made on Jay, Austin and Long as well as Gallagher and possibly Seager too. IMO would try to ship out Long and Austin and go back to the drawing board - both have too big a flaw in their game to be a long term bet.
-
No. He hasnt played for a year, has been injured and possibly not doing much training. Doubt he would make a first start in a cup final. He will need a mini pre season to get anywhere near fit enough. Watford is much more realistic.
-
At least due to our light schedule in Feb he has a month to get fit and probably play some U23 games. Watford on March 4th his likely first appearance for the first team, if he signs.
-
Good time to bring him in as can have 3/4 weeks to get fit as only one league game still to come in Feb. Give him a good fitness programme and some U23 games and bring him in from March. No brainer signing even on decent money as no transfer or loan fee. Option for next year too incase he is worth keeping.
-
It will be in the Mirror shortly then. Either Lewis or a Crooky special as he monitors this site and the #SaintsFC hastag.
-
He was on trial at Palace so they must be in a decent position to sign him. We also know from Sakho that overpaying isn't as much of a factor for them as it seem to be for us. Also the work permit mustn't be seen as a challenge. He wouldnt turn down AC Milan for the PL only to find he cannot sign for anyone in England. Biggest concern with Cacares is his last game was Feb 2016 (he only played 6 or 7 times for Juve last season) and he has been a free agent for 7 months. Is it really worth the money? I guess due to our awful CB position it probably is, but would certainly take him time to get match fit. We have to look at it, but the fact the competition is Palace and Sunderland says it all. He isn't suddenly going to be a saviour but if fit would add experience and options.

Les Reed won't be firing Puel any time soon despite what some fans may want.
-
Looks out of his depth on the last 3 showings unfortunately.
-
We are in a relegation battle now.
-
So you don't think its possible to support and be critical at the same time?
-
Doesn't affect me but totally agree.
-
Jay Rod should start over Long if fit IMO.
-
Will have to start making decisions on the long term futures of the likes of Reed, McCarthy and Gallagher in the summer. Still amazed Reed has never gone out on loan.

But your posts are all the same. Moaning about trolls and people moaning. What do you actually think about the transfer deadline day? -
Watching Clasie run through treacle to get back during their second goal counter was painful. Overtaken by pretty much everyone and he is meant to be the engine room of the side. Was only the 70th minute in a low tempo game as well. I feel for him a bit as he seems a good committed pro who has technical ability but physically he is about the opposite of what suits the PL. Too small, heavy, slow and lacking in stamina. Will never be an effective box to box player and isn't enough of a presence to be the main defensive midfielder. IMO his best games for us have been when we have just needed to dig in and grind out a result, anything requiring more and he struggles. Would look to move on in the summer if anyone came in for him - we could do better and certainly find a more PL suited midfielder.
