I thought Steven Davis had a tremendous game in the middle, he was everywhere and totally dominating things with Morgan to provide and endless supply of ball to Ramirez et al. Lots of fantastic work that will have probably gone unnoticed compared to the delightful stuff shown by Gaston. What a player he looks. Any tell me who he reminds you of. Tall, languid style reminds me of someone, but I'm not sure who... Fonte was also top notch. So many good performances. Puncheon second half for example really got his act together...great team display, especially after the break.

Another decent game from Fonte, written off by many many on here. Re Fox, I feel for him. His lack of pace causes him so many problems defensively, but today it was his distribution that let him down. His passing was woeful, giving away possession maybe 6 or 7 times, but for once it was right in front of the manager. Normally he steps it up when on that side of the pitch. Near half time he even gave it away in a dangerous area and just jogged back rather than busting a gut to make up for it, again right in front of Adkins. Little wonder he was pulled off. Rightly subbed and it made all the difference. Yoshi looked solid, although he did dive in once in the second half that might have cost us. That was about the only mistake he made all game though apart from not getting tight to their striker for two corners. Very comfortable on the ball. Great timer of a leap and a good talker. Tough choice who to drop if Jos is fit next week. Not sure Fonte deserves to be dropped. Clyne had another great game. I don't like him out there on the left, but Richardson or Fox? I thin Richardson perhaps deserves a run out.

the minus 10 points would leave them 11 points from safety, having played a game more. Maybe the PST budget will allow them to spend a million on the next Lambert to see them out of trouble and challenging for promotion the season after. For me, seeing them lose week in week out is the payback much requested on here. Hope they survive so it can continue. Great days.

Still speaking well and losing games. div 4 beckons.

starting to get nervous. Read on BBC website that Villa have never lost to us at SMS. Need to get in their faces straight from the off.

he isn't quick, never has been never will. Realise that and you'll see a different player. Maybe not the best, but usually with a decent touch that keeps the ball reasonably well. It will be interesting to see how he reacts to the next `Chamberlain'. Last time he sulked.

t's the people that employ them that to do this that you should be erked with, not the PR companies themselves. Doubt I'll believe an online review ever again.

I'm not saying smoking is good for moral. I'm saying that having a break, a smoke and a chat with workmates through the day is probably good for their moral. Happy, thriving workplaces need staff that communicate with each other and fag breaks represent a good opportunity to do that. By the way I would guess that far more time is lost in the workplace from people making a drinking tea/coffee, not that I care. UK workers by and large work long and hard, so any time (and money) lost due to smoking breaks shouldn't be reflected in a overall cost to the country of smoking. The fact is £12billion comes in from smokers and their NHS bill is only £2.7billion. These people are helping to fund the healthcare of non smokers.

Are we discussing the perception and reality of the clubs fans or the actual clubs themselves, as you seem to dip in and out. You're right the media don't mention our fans much. On the flip side the media can't stop talking about you uber fans. It's back page news every week just how amazing they are. The team and financial management hardly get a mention.

but without those smoking caused deaths unemployment would be higher so that would cost the government. Without those ciggy breaks perhaps worker moral would reduce, reducing output. Without those breaks maybe worker eyesight/health would be affected by staring at a PC continuously - that added health care is going to cost. Many smokers replace fags with food and become overweight adding to health costs. Cigs reduce stress, stress is a killer and must cost the country in terms of absenteeism and health. Smoking is an industry. If that industry was removed would that not add to unemployment placing a further burden on the government in terms of benefits? People living longer costs the government a fortune in pensions and health care. I'm just making these up as I go along, but those figures don't show the cost of removing cigs from the equation.

I smoked a packet a day for over ten years and enjoyed them a great deal. I gave up ten years ago. Since then I've always missed it, but have managed to to stay off them despite having the odd urge. Seeing the price go through the roof makes me thankful I managed it. That said, recently I've thought about starting again. I feel as though I'm denying myself one of life's pleasures and wonder why I am bothering. We are all going to die and as far as I can see the last 10-20 years are pretty crap and will be even crappier by the time I get there. When it comes to executing smokers that sounds like a cunning plan. What do we hope to achieve here as perhaps there are other groups we can add to that list.

I'm was confused, but perhaps your post explains everything. Chanrai put a bid in and it was accepted by the creditors yonks ago. Chanrai later pulled out. Chanrai back in, but this time Birch says bid unacceptable. Was the bid lower than before? Is that why it was not accepted. But `unacceptable' to who? Birch? How long can he stall for?

Better watch out for jesus driving an audi...

PST are going to have to shout a little louder if they want the ice cream man to hear them

so how much does Chinny get back from this buyout?
-
Excellent news, for him. Since signing the 5 year deal the club has not looked back and now he get the recognition he deserves, all be it probably not a run out. Does England recognition really help or hinder? I guess it shows you can play for England if you play for Saints, but the last time I said that on here Bridge ****ed off five minutes later to Chelsea.

Except for the fact it was not the firsr time of asking it was the third season in the championship that we failed to cut back our cloth.

This is serious. How close could Rickie be to an England call-up ???
Chez replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Unless the lad is in the squad to stay then I don't want him anywhere near it. I know you have to start somewhere, but a days training and 45 minutes is not enough to get the best out of Ricky. Also I seem to recall BT's confidence suffered massively after his England call up so I'm not sure I ever want to see him get the call. -
who decides if the stadium goes for the £2.75m the PST has offered, Birch or Chinny?
-
My guess is they've just taken £2.1m out of their annual budget and will pay it over 4 years rather than the £2m over 1 year they had planned. Can they buy the club and the golden share without the stadium?

Billy Sharp - Joins Notts Forest on Season Long Loan
Chez replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
he didn't, but unlike some he did actually want to play football (which he wouldn't at SFC) and thankfully Forest have been interested for yonks and had the reddies to pay enough of his wages for it to be worthwhile us letting him out on loan. -

you can only move players if there are suitors -
Billy Sharp - Joins Notts Forest on Season Long Loan
Chez replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
nope. the value of the decision will be if the other strikers at SFC score goals. If they don't then we may as well have stuck with Sharp. We all know he will score a few in the Championship, but this is the premiership. -
Be honest, should the £12m paid for GR been spent elsewhere?
Chez replied to Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd's topic in The Saints
if we'd signed only defenders and goalkeepers the same `unhappy' people would be pointing to the lack of investment in creativity. We have signed a lot of good players including a right back, centre back and a keeper. All areas of the park including the defence were addressed. -
the EPP academy that PST plan t scrap if they gain control. Birch planning ahead nicely for Chanrai to take the helm...
