he's **** but he did well today. Great attitude, poor technique.

    Lallana

back to his best today. Looked much fitter for some reason and he dived into every tackle possible. I have to say we played it a lot shorter than we have in recent weeks and that must have made all the difference as he actually saw the ball rather than just watching it going over his head. He also moved into a more central role as we playerd narrow in the second half. As I haev been saying for months this is where he needs to play not out wide.
  3. spot on marking. Saeijs had a stormer. Nice to see McGoldrick score again, might get a few more of you off his back for a while.
  4. lets hope its Dyer's transfer fee that pays for the administrator
  5. I thought these stadium loans tended to be secured on future ticket sales.
  6. I'd argue that he's not worth a place in the side anyway.
  7. as I keep saying they are paid by the hour and they certainly won't be rushing to complete the process. Our of interest I wonder how much the PLC spent on advice about insolvency from the company's lawyer as Lowe stressed that they had regular contact to ensure the board were not breaking the law. Fans often ask where does all the money go, well wages on managers, players, accountants and lawyers seems to be the answer.
  8. He (Smith) clearly can dribble the ball and he looks to have the confidence to go at the fullback. I perhaps have been overly harsh on him seeing as he's only been here 5 minutes, but if you are not going to work back, tackle or head then you aer going to have to be bloody effective when you do get on the ball and so far he has done nothing. I'd like to add that on all the occasions that I have seen him he had been very lightweight and often appear to have not switched onto the game at all (not on his toes, not hungry for the ball etc.). I've watched Dyer a few times for Swansea and he hasn't suddenly become a world beater. He still falls over his own shadow, can't kick it 30 yards and more often than not runs straight into the defender. He's scored a couple of goals but I wouldn't start worrying that we have some world beater out on loan when he should be here.
  9. At the end of the day you are only going to make money out of the club if we are in the premiership and businessmen know they are going to have to spend a few bob to do that. As fans thats exactly what we want - someone to come in and speculate to accumalate. The concern for me is that the new buyer will just spend till the cows come home but using money he is lending the club in the form of a loan that at some point they might call in and leave us back where we started - desperately seaking a buyer to prevent us from going into liquidation.
  10. I'm tempted to move back to Block 1 Itchen from my Bock 4 seat but I read on here that the atmosphere was poor on Saturday. Anyone confirm?
  11. the accounts information you have been reading about is last years and since then they have received the next sky installment as well as a small fortune in transfer fees for Diarra £20m, Defoe £15m, Muntari £12.7M and Mendes £3m with about £16m going the other way. As for the salaries, 15 players are out of contract in the summer so they can reaccess should they want to downsize as we did last summer, but with more sky money than ever before they should have no problem in covering them. Relegation would cripple them but I don't see it if they survive.
  12. What are you talking about? I was quite clearly suggesting that Pearson was more expensive than JP. As for suggesting Pearson would not have been able to have bettered JPs results with the same set of players, why do you think that? Pearson had turned a sinking ship around, had the layers respect and as he has shown at Leicester he is fully capable of handling youngsters and senior pros alike. Contrast also the performance of Pearsons 21 year old signing Michael Morrison with that if JP's (or whoever it was) signing of Morgan Schniederlin or Robertson or Pekhart...perhaps ig Pearson had stayed we wouldn't have had so much ****e to work with.
  13. paid by the hour, why rush?
  14. Sky money is £70M next season. Unless they go down their financial worries won't last long. ****.
  15. So Pearson's wage was the same as JP's then? I'd like to see evidence of that. I wanted Pearson to stay as much as anyone, but if his wage was say £300,000 and JP's was perhaps £100,000 then you are wrong - it was a financial decision. It may have been a short sighted one, but a saving of £200,000 is quite considerable. It matters not, it was the wrong decision even if it was made for the right reasons (which as we can see is still debatable). Shame Lowe couldn't hold his hands up to that one. I'd have respected him a lot more if he had said: "With hindsight perhaps we should have spent a bit more and retained Pearson. It was a false economy going for JP, but we had to cut every penny we could to save the club but in this case it backfired."
  16. everything Lowe said on that interview (which focused purely on going into administration) was correct and he is right, it is not his fault that we went into administration. The `big gamble' and overspending by Wilde, Hone, Burley et al is the reason we have gone belly up. Obviously relegated from the Premiership created the path to our problems but financial oblivion could have been avoided if not our Premiership status. What Lowe failed to mention was the fact that him coming back in the first place and some of the decisions he has made on his return have not helped the club avoid administration. He obviously didn't mention the relegation season either, although seeing as we had money in the bank he is right that administration was not inevitably at that point. He also failed to acknoweldge that he had made a single mistake during his two tenures. I think his lack of humility and not being able to hold his hands up to even the smallest mistake - like Wigley or Portviet - is the reason he is so disliked. Why not just say " have made mistakes"?
  17. thanks. Mr Doncaster is a turkey voting for Xmas if he backs us. The Sheffield United Chairman is going to want proper justice after they were turned over on the Tevez affair, so I can see him voting against us as well. Sheepshanks is a mate of Lowe's ain't he? In the end there is precident (with Derby) so if our accounts show that there were two distinct entities then we should be alright. If not we are going to have serious problems.
  18. too late for that. Unless we finish outside the bottom three the ten points will come off next season as we missed the deadline.
  19. who exactly is on the football league board or are all parties totally independant? The last thing I want to see is a decision being made by the Forrest Chairman or suchlike.
  20. Lowe knew the state of the overdraft in January as he does today. He had all the figures in front of him. The only thing he didn't know for sure was crowds and it wasn't hard to see that they weren't rising quickly. With that information he knew pretty much when the cash would run out (when the overdraft would start going up again) and when the bank would call time.
  21. Lowe is just ensuring the blame is not directed soley at himself - which is entirely fare seeing as Quisling did a pretty good job of it. By doing so he is looking to improve his reputation which he of course needs in his new job. As for Lowe coming back as part of a consortium there is every chance of that, but are Barclays really going to negotiate with him after he has openly criticised them?
  22. why the need for hindsight? At the end of January Lowe knew the realistic income for the rest of the season. He certainly knew the costs. Having said that is the offers were peanuts then what was the point, it would only delay the inevitable.
  23. Lets get rid of the bloody diamond and get two central midfieders in the side. I really really don't want to select Wotton in my side but other than playing Gobern in the centre I see little option. When I saw Gobern in the middle against Manu he looked decent and if I had seen a little more I'd get him in immediately. **** it, as at matters nto what I put down here I'm going to include Gobern. I'd like to see Lallana return to the middle and played in the hole behind Euell. Lets flood the midfield a little bit and get some pasing going to bring Surman into the side who has struggled since we started hoofing. Is Patterson fit? I don't understand why he had dissapeared fromt he scene otherwise. Davis James Saeijs Perry Skacel Smith Gobern Schneiderlin Surman Lallana Euell Forecast Liptak Patterson Saga BWP
  24. if we are paying him by the hour why would he rush?
  25. He has and always will be a good finisher and that is it. Unless he scores he does nothing.
