let me just say that I, like most others on here were singing from the same sheet as Matt. The Dutch experiement was seen as a terrible appointment right from the begining. No hindsight was required, the vast majority thought it was madness and we were doomed.

I could not disagree with this more. We only just managed to avoid releagtion the previous season and every man and his dog knew that the side contained less quality when we started the new season. I think anyone with sense knew that we would be relegated or very close to relegation with the players at Jan's and then Wotte's disposal. If I'm honest I was very surprised at what an excellent footballing side we were at the start of the season with players like Davis, Lallana and Cork playing out of their skin. But when the resukts didn't go our way confidence dissapeared, the side performance dropped badly and then it was pretty much a foregone conclusion after that. I'm not saying Jan and Wotte did not make lots of mistakes or that they are good managers but with the finances the way they were we had no chance.

my fear is that we will have the same problems in the League below. Holmes is still going to be slow and ****e, Wotton is going to be slower and uglier than before, Perry will still be too slow and too short, we don't have a big number 9, we dont have pace out wide, up front or at the back. Also we have no squad depth, and any quality at the club is about to leave so we are going to be worse than we were last season and that was bad, real bad. Add to this all free transfers are going to have been snapped up, we know **** all about the quality and availability of players from the lower leagues, our scouting system is appauling...

quite a drop from Champions League to League 1. I don't see it myself. More chance of him going to Pompey...oh ****.

they seemed pretty motivated to me, just lacking in quality. Tactics wise he played long ball, perhaps dictated by the fact the short passing game had us at the foot of the table so he had to try something different. His hands were also tied in terms of selection as there was no one he could bring in. When Gillett was injured I don't think anyone on here was convinced about any of the other players - and they were right, they were all cack.

Dyer wanted to leave, it made no difference that a new buyer was comng in he wanted to get away from Sotuhampton and obviously Swansea offered a very attractive escape route. As for McGoldrick and Surman I think its clear both feel they are good enough toplay in the CCC so they too may be askign for a move (new owner with money or not). For those players the world doesn't stand still whilst due dilligence takes place. Even if the new owners were in place they would still be targets for the likes of Forest.

for £1.2m which might put McGoldricks potential fee into perspective.
-
Forest are spending a fair wedge on McGoldrick, Surman, Adebola, McKenna...they don't look relegation favourites to me. Sadly.

no need for consultants, at our last few home games a certain David Pleat was in attendance

Very good post and exactly how I feel except for not having confidence in Thomson yet.

never could understand why you couldn't moderate your own thread title...

others on here suggest he signed an extension while back though I never saw that on the OS myself.

http://www.forest.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=156220 this source has been pretty accurate recently when it comes to incoming players to Forest.

was it (as widely reported) for £200,000 now, £200,000 in a while and a load of add ons?

get new scouts

I am amazed there are any fans at all on here that are happy with a name change. SFC forever in my book.

that's no good. People want to know in advance that that section is open.

actually in that 2005/6 season Leeds' home gate only dropped below 20k twice (both 18k) for league games, but certainly the high ticket prices brought by Bates the following season (and then again the season after that in League 1) had a massive effect on overall attendances (they dropped bloew the 20k mark a lot). Bates took the **** and our next new board had better not do the same.

there is interest but no offer on the table yet. Our chances look slim to none

I was thinking the same thing. Would the buyer perhaps offer £1m less if he is sold before they complete the deal? Very interesting timing of Forrests part. If we sell him who are we going to attract that is better? League 1 football is not a big draw if you haev any class at all. Mind you if we sold him and we managed to bring in N'Guessan I'd be happy.

do you think they will remember the taunts at SMS as we all but sent them down?
-
would it not be more appropriate to thank JP and the players for losing every week thereby putting off the more casual fans. I'd of thought there were far more casual fans deciding to not turn up than boycotters.
-
to be honest I'm surprised Swansea want him, and I say that not because of the bagge he has btu because in the game I saw him play for Swansea he didn't look like he was any better than when he played for us.

not sure Mat gives a **** if we have Stella or Cider on tap.
