  1. Beautiful stuff.
  2. This and this. Redmond was an archetypal SFC signing. If all went to plan he'd be going to the world cup and to Manchester United this summer after two sensational seasons. When he scored on his debut I thought that felt like a realistic trajectory. He certainly wasn't signed to be rubbish and stay. Ditto Hojberg. Ditto Boufal. If they had great seasons a la Victor, VVD and co then we wouldn't have finished 17th.
  3. Which of the three seasons he took Stoke to 9th are you saying he didn't do well in? Without getting ahead of ourselves, if he delivers two decent top 10 finishes over the next two seasons then happy days. I think the trick is to keep for just long enough and then all move on. Stability for too long is overrated, as Stoke (and Arsenal) know.
  4. What do you think Burnley's aim was last August? I'd suggest it wasn't "finish top 4". I don't quite get the desperation for over-claiming. Seems to me it just creates an excuse for people to moan about the club if we don't achieve it. Whatever happens we ar not going to challenge top six every single season without fail forever and ever. No club our size does, we won't as we've seen. A chairman saying it at the start of every season won't change that.
  5. Ralph on SSN right now. Pretty decent too - Hughes clearly wanted, so let's hope it gets sorted. Personally think this is the best he's been. People will moan about him but there's not many senior leaders in football which would be quite so forthright about their failings, mistakes and learnings. They've still got to walk the walk but decent (re)start.
  6. It lasted as long as they sponsored us. I doubt even they thought people would continue to call it that after they finished paying for it.
  7. Debatable that Koeman has actually done anything better than Hughes, apart from managing in more leagues. Remember Steve McClaren has won the Dutch league.
  8. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/may/14/harry-kane-mo-salah-golden-boot-new-heights-tottenham-liverpool?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Copy_to_clipboard We'd take Toby off them, right?
  9. I'll be disappointed if we don't manage to string this along until at least mid-June.
  10. Well, we are.
  11. Of the four teams involved today I think Stoke's desire to not finish bottom may be the strongest.
  12. Its not a big question because he has already said that he does.
  13. Chelsea might consider him for a role doing the after-dinners in the corporate lounge but that's about it. You know that Chelsea are one of the super rich and trying to win the Prem and the Champions League every season, right?

  15. You complacent complacency disgusts me. It's people like you that make me wish we'd lose 10-0. Thankfully Pep will be up most of the night plotting how to deliver the annihilation that Charlie Austin has wrought upon us. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  16. Charlie Austin, speaking to Sky, reckons*Southampton*are nigh-on safe. They will only go down if they lose heavily to Man City, Huddersfield take at least one more point, and Swansea thrash Stoke. ““It’ll take a nine-goal swing [actually 10],” says Austin. “It can be done I suppose but … our hard work paid off today. We need nothing less than a win because we knew they have Stoke to come at the weekend. I’ve been relegated before at QPR and it’s a sad, sad feeling. But the gaffer has come in and turned it around, put some belief back into the team. We were down there because we weren’t good enough but the manager has turned it around.” "It can be done I suppose" What an absolute disgrace of complacent complacency I have ever seen in my whole life so I have. 17. Charlie's done the City team talk for them. I imagine Pep will just pin the transcript of the interview on the dressing room wall. That's all he'll need to do to rile up that squad. Personally I'd like to see Pep animated on the touchline raging and bellowing at the team that if they're only four-nil up after 70 minutes that they must attack attack attack to make sure they get to seven or eight just to get back at Charlie Austin. I imagine he'll make some serious attacking subs if that is the case. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

    Play offs

Great result for the super Rams tonight so fingers crossed for the second leg. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  19. No he hasn't. Well done on completely swallowing a clearly transparent Durham wind up though. Simple folk supporting clubs all over the country think he hates them too. Quite sweet really.
  20. Personally I am very pleased the Daily Telegraph have set the record straight. Here's me thinking our recruitment has been an absolute sack of sh it for four consecutive transfer windows but turns out that our transfer record is a masterful work of genius. Well done Les and the team.
  21. Great stuff. Nice to see them doing the classic football forum thing that every conceivable event seen entirely through the prism of their own club...ie Hughes celebrating his success last night were "antics" entirely directed at Stoke City....but I am inclined to agree they have a point regarding the statement from the Coates family earlier in the day. He wouldn't have needed much motivation anyway, but Hughes must have been thinking a delicious F-you to the people that sacked him, and then hung him out to dry at full time last night.
  22. Parked the bus.
  23. But QPR QPR QPR QPR.
  24. The alternative is to let Hughes go, then dither about for three or four weeks, get ourselves linked with an unrealistic top level European manager, which then inevitably falls through and then pi ss about some more then recruit our fourth choice manager sometime early July. Give Hughes the job now and have done with it.
  25. Stewards kept stopping the coach and then tried to keep the players on for half an hour. Hughes told them to go fu ck themselves and the players walked to the stadium. Have it.
