  1. I think it's a policy that already exists in that people are already free to make the decision to pay for private healthcare if the feel they can afford it. But other than that, it's pretty groundbreaking stuff.
  2. I'd like to see Jeff's reaction to a story that said a Labour government would means test every household in Britain to establish whether or not they meet the £1,000 disposable income threshold to be removed from accessing the NHS. Sounds awfully like the kind of big government, we-tell-you-how-to-spend-your-money nanny-state intervention you'd think he would disapprove of. I wonder if the in-no-way-right-wing Daily Telegraph would run one of their in-no-way-right-wing front pages on it.
  3. Good read. Loving the comparison to QPR. Truly, we have been blessed.
  4. You actually typed that out. Blimey.
  5. The exact same feed on the Guardian reports that a Scottish parliamentary candidate is wearing Cookie Monster pajamas for a Radio 4 interview this morning. I'd have said that isn't news but this morning I have learnt that in UJ's world if it's on the Guardian IT IS NEWS.
  6. LOL. I think you may have missed Whelks and my comments about how a story like this is cookie cutter stuff that gets trotted out every cycle. It's sweet that you think everything ever reported on the BBC and the Guardian qualifies as news. Remember that next time they publish something you don't like, won't ya?
  7. So what? Is this your first day in the UK or something?
  8. Obviously it is. As Whelk said, it's as predictable as a "blue Monday" story in January. The only debatable bit is whether it qualifies as actual news. It being right wing isn't in question.
  9. Kinda like they report stuff objectively, aint it?
  10. Oh dear.
  11. Here, you said it here: There you go. "Complete crap" and a "joke reply" are your words. You now have the opportunity to back track again and say that the comment from M underneath that Onion "news" report is NOT "complete crap" and a "joke reply" if you like. Let me know what you want to say.
  12. I never thought I'd see the day that rich businessmen would come out against Labour in the Daily Telegraph. Strange times indeed.
  13. and then I got off the bus, aah.
  14. There is probably some irony in the fact that he was doing material on that kind of thing nearly twenty odd years ago on TMWRNJ (TMWRNJ) in a recurring feature called Lazy Boring Comedy Slags.
  15. Depending on Jay Rod, another striker. But agree otherwise. Those who think we are going to go into Europe with some mega squad are going to be seriously disappointed. There's not much money in the Europa League so can't see us splashing put that much beyond basic renovation (ie replacing Morgan). Like you say, the kids will need to step up next season, probably in the League Cup initially (like a real big club for a season....).
  16. Next up, fe lching. [well done swear filter]
  17. I'm telling the city I am breaking even this year.
  18. I think there was. Claus talked about the same thing, and pretty sure there were other examples as well.
  19. And pretty much every household too.
  20. Funny, I always thought it just meant big tent, with the signing being the big tent pole holding the rest of it up. You live and learn.
  21. He doesn't mean "marque" signings.
  22. Do it how other western democracies do it. I'm at work, so that's all I've got time to say. Shame really, because otherwise I could reply to you twice and you can then accuse me of stalking you, or tell me to stop being angry. Just pretend all that happened anyway.
  23. Not really. And anyway, the Tories are more anti- first past the post than Labour. Bring in PR then everyone's a winner. Or the actual winners are the winners.
  24. Witney is more populous than I remember. #pedantry pendant#
  25. Delighted that you now think the idea that "restrictions on guns only limit law abiding citizens from protecting themselves" is "complete crap". I think it's complete crap too, as do your other British friends here on this thread. Well done for listening to the arguments and finally changing your mind. You've been really brave.
