  1. I liked his little lecture on nuance.
  2. That lot did something equally mental and blatantly attention seeking a few months back. Can't remember the details but someone here will I'm sure. Clearly a few quid to be made from the Racism Industry.
  3. Would be just pointless to take Shaw. No need for three left backs in a WC squad. I think the Theo-in-Germany theory of "sitting next to Stevie Gerrard on a plane will do wonders for his development" is rather over egged. Pick the blimmin squad for the tournament we're actually in.
  4. No, it just means that our young England players won't develop now because lots of them will have to waste their careers playing in the world's biggest football tournament against the best players in the world on the biggest possible stage. What a disaster for developing an England football team. When will England ever learn?
  5. All this stuff about "England always get hyped up" doesn't actually happen anymore though. Pre-South Africa there was no expectation in the press at all, and even less going into the Euros. Ahead of a specific match there is obvious expression of support but why wouldn't there be. Don't know if you've ever noticed but most of the time on here before a match there is an awful lot of "Saints will win this one" predictions regardless of form or opposition. Before an England match is that exact same sentiment but in all media across the entire country. That aside (do you expect newspapers to splash with "We will lose" on the day of a WC Game?) there will be no expectation that we will win the world cup this time. So don't worry.
  6. You didn't read or hear the quote, then.
  7. Aware of that thanks. But we qualify, definitely, if we win. Winning at OT on Saturday is, by your standards, meaningless as we can still finish top ten/six/four/not be relegated/etc regardless of that result.
  8. 100% this. In the OP's scenario, England win. A world cup summer with no England would be horrendous. It's the kind of thing I get excited aboyt even in the January of a tournament year. We have to be there. There are plenty of scenarios where I'd pick club over country but not in this one.
  9. I'm humourless? Funny, I actually find Pompey's travails hilariously funny. You're the one turning it into a po-faced campaign for justice for the nation's children. And everything will better for those children everywhere once they take Fratton Park away, won't it? Of course it won't because you'd still whine that they "got away with it". As I said before. Try enjoying it. It's hilarious.
  10. Parent of two actually. Mawkish grizzling about "think of the children, would someone please think of the children!!" does your argument no favours at all. If all you can worked up about for your kids is your failure to take them to a particular football match, which you then blame Portsmouth for, then I'd say that makes you a fu cking abysmal parent. Grow up. So basically this all makes you look more of a complete plank than usual. Which is a f uck off great plank. Think of the children! Think of the children!
  11. Stop pretending you want "justice" and "punishment". You just want to delight in schadenfreude, and feel compelled to aggrandise it with horsesh it about your daughters not seeing Saints win the cup. (Seriously?) If Fratton was destroyed by an out of control oil tanker overnight you'd accept that as punishment even though it bore no relation to their henious "crimes". I'm enjoying Pompey's struggles as much as the next man: it's funny. Bloody funny. But your constant po-faced whining around how this is some noble quest for justice is excrutiatingly embarrassing and makes us look the like the smallest of small-fry football clubs. Get over it.
  12. At which point all those fans would still say "I wouldn't change a thing". Then what would you demand? A Nuclear strike, or jump straight to concentration camps?
  13. From such a connoisseur of fantasy fiction, this is high praise indeed.
  14. She's made it through to the final audition after a couple successful call-backs from MI5. She's down to the last two to land the plum role of "housewife bystander who tries to help a decapitated policeman" in the security service's next big false flag production. It's going to be on in Manchester city centre this time. Wish her luck, could be a big breakthrough for her.
  15. I love it when Pap parodies himself.
  16. Apparently AFC Wimbledon only came into existence because Sam Hamman refused to let a couple of first team players attend a tribute service to John Fashanu. And FC United was formed as a protest arising from an unauthorised Gala Dinner to Bryan Robson.
  17. What flaw have you found in my position? You keep going on about something said "on good authority" which I am "arguing to be true" but I have done nothing except give my own opinion. Of course, debating with you is an utter waste of time. Proven again.
  18. Yet another "on good authority" post?? Being my original post makes no suggestion of having any inside info, and in the best part of a decade on forums I have never once posted anything suggesting I have inside info on anything...I have no idea what you are talking about. You, on the other hand, can be relied upon to post utter sh it consistently.
  19. Gaylord.
  20. Love the way Italy have suddenly become a footballing nation on a par with Scotland just so you can make a pi ss weak argument that Morgan should definitely play for France. Juventus, eh? Small fry compared to the MegaEuroSaints.
  21. Which article was this then?
  22. We don't know, no. Although that line of argument has nothing to do with the "oh all of this is so awful, where does the poor club draw the line" line of argument. If Adam Lallana was given the choice and said no, fair enough. Was he given the choice? We don't know. I think not, personally.
  23. Except it's not "the club sending a representative", is it? I have no doubt Adam Lallana would happily have contributed to something like this. It takes more effort on the club's part to stop him than let him do it. I love you people making out how much of a gargantuan effort for the club allowing a player to do something in his own time. Oh horror, oh horror, where does the poor club draw the line? Jesus.
  24. What are you on about? We didn't get sponsored by Lotus, and I'd say part of the reason was down to the appalling kit design, where no one can read the sponsors name. I don't blame them for running a mile.
  25. Don't worry. We've been reassured by the visionaries on this forum that thousands of new fans from Devon to Dover will be flooding in to support their local team. There will be a mad scramble for tickets every game.
