Some of these points have been raised previously, however.... Broja not in the Chelsea squad today.....just sayin' Koulibali red card. Presumably he misses next week against us. Bednarek available if they want him.....£20m......just sayin' Saints currently above Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea, Wolves. Everton, Villa, West Ham, Bompey & Leicester......just sayin' Our result against Leeds last week starting to look a pretty decent result.

I drove past St. Mary's earlier. There was a bloke who struck me as rather pedantic looking, standing outside the stadium, holding what appeared to be, a 24 hour vigil. He was holding a massive banner which read "PLEEEEEASE SIGN JAMES GARNER NOW. IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT YOU GET THIS TRANSACTION COMPLETED FORTHWITH". I sounded my horn in support. He shouted back at me that it is "actually unlawful to sound ones horn after the hours of darkness unless it is in the case of an emergency" I don't think it was MLG though......he'd spelt "PLEASE" incorrectly.

I would be sad to see Oriol go. He has been a brilliant servant for this club. Not only will we lose a damn fine player, but we will also need to nominate someone else to wind up and taunt Jack Grealish! We need to start a "KEEP ORIOL" campaign. Only my opinion, but I would much rather we were looking to move Diallo out.

I don't know if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but from what I saw on Saturday, I do wonder if Adam Armstrong could be utilised as one of the attacking midfielders. As an out and out striker, it hasn't really worked for him here, but there's no denying he puts in the miles with his work rate and puts himself about. His control is pretty good (it was just his final shot that was letting him down). His cross from the left on Saturday was a decent set up for Aribo's goal. I would imagine he could play left or right of an attacking midfield (no. 10?). I would really like it to work out for him here, and maybe it's an option. Also a shout out to Djenepo. His willingness to take on a man has always been there, but his final ball has let him down. From what I've seen so far, he looks to have "upped" his game a notch or two and the final ball looks better. So, this being the transfer thread, I would actually look to keep AA and Djenepo and not, as some have suggested, get rid of.

Yeah, good luck to him. He's had his moments, good and not so good, but has been a good servant in my opinion. Probably a good time to move on, for himself and for the club. Watford should have a few quid to spend as well. having lost Dennis and isn't/hasn't Saar going/gone as well? so hopefully we get some of that.

Changing the subject slightly. This made me smile yesterday.....at about 6.04pm this came up on my phone as I was travelling back from St Mary's. Question. "What time are Man United kicking off against Brentford?" Answer "About every 5 minutes at this rate".

A few tears ago, playing against Arsenal, he apparently lobbed Seaman from the half-way line. (the old ones are not always the best!)
-
Yeah, I don't disagree with you. We'll start the bidding at £150m. With all these youngsters coming in to our team as well, JWP is going to be needed anyway. I know every player has his price, but I would say JWP could be "priceless" for us this season.
-
For £120m they can have him. The nearer to the end of the window and teams start to get more desperate, the prices will rise.
-
I wouldn't mind betting he could still put in a crunching tackle though. He was a proper "Midfield General"

Win or lose the final, I think this year's BBC Sports Personality of The Year "Team Award" may already be decided. I confess, I know next to nothing about the women's game, but I have tuned in for the last 2 games and what I do find refreshing is players not rolling around on the ground after the slightest contact, and players respecting the referees decisions. And credit where credit is due, I thought England played a really good attacking game. The best goal ever though? Ummmmm, not sure about that claim.

To the tune of Nick Nack Paddy Whack... MARA SCORES, BAZUMU SAVES OUR AWAY KIT LOOKS LIKE WAVES SPLISH-SPLASH HAVE A BASH ARIBO IS A HIT WHY ARE POMPEY STILL SO SHIT (It's ok, I'm getting my coat)

Crikey! That looks like a career threatening injury for Neymar. I really hope it's not too serious and wish him a speedy recovery. Knob!
-
He looks like a good player. If I recall he gave Arsenal a real runaround in the cup last year. Also, I guess that might rule them out of sniffing around for KWP which has to be good news.

Various people on here saying we don't have enough money to buy this that or the other. Need to sell now before we can buy etc etc. That's a pretty big assumption unless you know something the rest of us don't. You may of course, be absolutely right, however, I don't know and I suspect nobody on here actually knows just how much the owners are prepared to splash out and none of us will know for sure until that transfer window SLAMS shut. £30m for Broja plus possibly 2 or 3 other players may indeed be outside our budget. Equally, it may not. They may have spent cautiously and not broken the bank, on the likes of Aribo, Lavia, Kotchap and Bazumu, but for all we know there may be a larger chunk waiting in order to get the right players (striker? No 10? cb? rb cover? etc etc) in. Or there may be nothing left in the pot. My point being, nobody actually knows. It's pure conjecture how much the owner are willing to spend.

Great post. However, I don't think you should let it drop now. You've done well to get this far and probably deserve some sort of honorary life membership to Saints. So wherever Bednarek goes, and for whatever fee, just tell your mate "Anything less than fifty or sixty million and I tell you, they've got themselves a f***** bargain".
-
Genuine question as I don't know the answer. Maybe someone on here knows. Can Tottenham enforce a buy back clause for KWP at any time during his contract with Saints, or would they have to wait for the end of that contract. Presumably if all parties were in agreement and the price was right. it could be at any stage, but if Saints were unwilling to sell at the moment, surely that contract is binding. However if it were to be run down, he could go on "a free anyway" which I guess wouldn't suit us. As I say, just asking...

Bednarek is to Leicester, what Winks is to Southampton!
-
The end of the bell? or to put it another way......Bell end.
-
It sounds as though Forest have well and truly had their bin dipped! 🤣
-
Apologies if this has been posted previously. BBC reporting that Forest have agreed a £17m deal with the the world's greatest ever team, ever to walk the planet, (otherwise known as the Bin-Dippers) for Neco Williams. Is it me, or is that about £10m too much? £17m!!!

Romeo Lavia - Official: Signs for Not Liverpool
Saint Keef replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Welcome to Romeo Lavia. May he have a long and successful career with SAINTS! -
Yes indeed. Being from Berkshire, I used to go and watch him at Reading, so my feeling is, it would be a good 'fit' for him to return there and as you imply - I can't see Ince being there for too long. I think Reading have transfer limitations due to FFP rules - or something like that - so a free transfer would probably suit them as well I guess.
-
I think he would make a very good coach, utterly professional throughout his career. Has stayed fit. I can't remember him ever being out with a long-term injury. I imagine he would set a fine example to younger players. I agree, now is the right time to bid him farewell, but best wishes to him wherever he goes.
