Haven't read the article but IMHO John Cross is an absolute helmet.

Vieira would be worth the gamble IMO. He's done his groundwork at City and NYCFC and due to his standing in the game will have instant respect of the players, something that was apparently a problem for Puel. If City see him as their future manager, surely they'd want to see how he copes in the Prem rather than just in the whacky world of the MLS.

This. Surely the point of not sacking Puel for weeks was so the new manager could walk straight in (Adkins/Poch style)

MLG, the problem is we are now known throughout football as "the" selling club. Both to players/agents and other clubs. We are never going reach the next level that Les and Raplh are always banging on about if every year we sell our best players to the clubs that are already at that level. Simples. The most worrying aspect of the sell sell sell approach is a couple of bad transfer windows in terms of replacements ends up with Championship football.

Decent back up on a free transfer who won't make a fuss when he's not playing. Makes sense.

I'd drive up there and pick him up. And Erwin can sit in the back. Best manager in our modern history IMO.
