  1. plan B is a "nice to have" when you have a plan A.
  2. Good Post, looking at the teamsheets there's not much in it, but tactically there is a big difference. Hopefully this is due to us missing key players or RK not getting his point across. I hope that RK is intelligent enough to recognise that the tactics of last season should become our default with RK's tactical genius supplying additions upon that solid base. If RK gets his men on 31/08 it will take a month for the team to gel and for tactics to become understood, so hopefully it'll start to click in October.
  3. I'm sure he's just playing at 80% to ensure he doesn't pick up an injury. Its sad but he is too good for Saints, if his value is between £20 and 30m, then he should be on £100 - 150k a week. We are nowhere near a big enough club for him.
  4. Pelle will need 6 months to get up to speed, he's played all his 29 years at half pace, his brain cannot even think at premier league speeds yet, so I will judge him around March. Tadic and Forster are good players, they wouldn't have looked out of place in last season's team. Gardos is somewhere between Lovren and Forren. Tactically we are worrying.
  5. I think he is referring to the comments made by Saints Legend Rickie Lambert, who said the Great Escape or Mass Exodus didn't have to happen and it could have been different.
  6. I hope RK is just struggling to get his point across to the players, and it will click when the new players join this week. The alternative would be too depressing, Saturdays tactics reminded me of Saints under Harry Redknapp, hoofing the ball up to Crouch as if its some kind of tactic. I am worried that the training sessions are not of the elite level of last season and instead of adding RK's tactics to our portfolio so we have a plan A and a plan B, we are replacing our highly praised and attractive football with something else. We need to play last seasons tactics as our default and implement RK's improvements, not fix something that isn't broke. So if by Sept 1, RK gets his men, I hope he can implement his tactical evolution, not revolution. Too early to make a judgement on our success in the transfer market, although observations that Pelle is off the pace are perfectly valid, just like Gaston, he will need 6 months at least to get up to speed mentally and physically.
  7. Hopefully Mingolet has a good season.
  8. Sam Gallagher can't be too far from a return to the starting line up. Maybe we will see him Tuesday.
  9. Played like brain injury victims, looked like turning oil tankers, entertained like drying paint.
  10. Tadic is decent at least.
  11. Thank FF for that!!
  12. Wow, Pelle what was that, phone a friend?
  13. That must have hurt....
  14. Need to start fining players who hoof it to Pelle in the air. No player would bother with that haircut if they intended heading the ball. Reminds me of a static yet stronger Crouch. JWP is too lightweight, needs to load protein and get in the gym for a year. Davis having another off day, all the others are doing well we are just playing at a mentally retarded level of slow.
  15. scored a good goal against Everton IIRC, think Rooney got 2 against us that day.
  16. get to Yarmouth, jump on the Ferry to Lymington, watch it there.
  17. Bas looks quick for a big guy, wouldn't be a bad signing based on the "dreaded youtube compilation"
  18. I recognise that if you work in a Portsmouth Primark, the offer of being cannon fodder on the Syrian front line must be like hitting the Jackpot. But when all these British ISIS fighters finally get bored and want to come home to mums cooking, will they be allowed to waltz back in as if they've been to Marbella for a fortnight?
  19. I'm sure Anelka was close to that
  20. Yes, and Bale was a great left back. I think Clyne would be a great attacking wideman, he can certainly beat his man, not scared to go past defenders or get to the line, has a good cross, has a good shot, great vision. The above reasons are probably why I'm not a Footy Manager but if we are looking for a wide right attacking player I don't think we need to look much further, we just need someone to fill the RB slot.

  22. and a £100m deal for DiMaria. Woodward makes our bunch look great.

  24. Would prefer to spend the money on a starting RB and push Clyne further forward.
