I think you need a drink.

Can you imagine that happening to Germany, Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, Holland, etc..? No, neither can I.

No, I think someone mentioned one involving Lambert and the sash, earlier. Something along the lines of Lambert wearing the sash, which inevitably makes the other team look gash. I suspect variations of that will go a long way.

Those horns are not half as annoying as the trumpets that used to constantly blare many years ago. The England 'thin sounding' trumpets actually really annoy me. Almost as much as TCWTB.

That's because you're seeing three keyboards at the moment.

That'll teach you to buy a wall.

Very good. I was in the shower when the ITV coverage started. I could hear the national anthems. I'm bound to say that the USA anthem is the more uplifting. Mind you, I could say that about ANY other national anthem. But staving off the risk of turning into St George, I'll balance by saying that any anthem that mentions the phrase ...rockets red glare... has a problem. But then at least it mentions ...the land of the free, and the home of the brave..., even if it is complete twaddle. Ours is basically about an institution many [perhaps most, nowadays..?] of us would rather be rid of. Oh, and well done Gerrard.

If only..! Mind you, I'd have to ban myself.

Oi..! There's another thread for you. Never buy kits for the purposes of wearing, other than playing football. And since I don't play anymore, I don't wear a kit. I have been given shirts before. I've got a 1999-2000 FP home shirt, and the excellent 2001 home FP shirt with No.7 and Le Tissier on the back. Then again, someone gave me a red England shirt and a white England shirt. My Mum, gawd bless her, still thought I liked Chelsea, after all these years, and gave me an Emirates shirt. Didn't have to heart to tell her, as she'd just turned 90 at the time. Back in February, I rode down to her place, with my old Saints scarf she knitted for me back in the summer of 1966. She's 95 now, and remembered it, straight away. If I turn my head round to the left, from where I sit, right now, there it is proudly hanging up, and in better nick than me.

Then go another day... oh..!

I won't have anything said against the Gore Police. Good guys. But, back to your topic. Has the judge set a precedent..? Ambulance drivers..? Firetruck drivers..?. Naughty.

Sunday evening is the best news I can give you.

So visitors coming your way needn't wrap up overly warm eh..? Is that what you're telling the taxman..?

And him too. Maradona is certainly the worst as far as England is concerned though. The fact is, he's lauded to the skies as a marvellous footballer. He may well be, but he's a marvellous footballing cheat. And as such, goes completely off my radar of world's best ever footballers. EDIT: Missed Michael Owen. Yeah, he's a bit of a diver, but let's not dilute this tirade.

I stand corrected, ESB. He's the biggest World Cup cheat then. Mind you, he has rivals in Henry [France v NI] and Schumacher [West Germany v France]. Well, he's one of the biggest cheats of World Cup football.

A new kit.

I thought you were, all along. Never used it much. Onc or twice we went down to the TV lounge and watched a late film, IIRC.

I'm wondering whether to make this a Sticky on this forum, so members can keep upto date with the cheapest petrol. It has to be of significant interest [or annoyance] to most users of the road, except terribly smug cyclists. The thing is... what happened to the price of petrol..? 116.9 per litre of ordinary unleaded, at my local Shell garage, in Winchester Road, Soton, today..? I filled up the the VFR [5.5 gallon tank] and it came to £18.66. That'll last me bloody ages. Is this relatively cheap motoring..? I think I'm going to faint. 5 minutes ago [well it seemed like it], I'm sure it was around 122.9 per litre of the same stuff. Not that I'm unhappy about it. No doubt someone from overseas will come on here and make me depressed again. USA members should make the US to UK gallon adjustment before they gloat. Thank you.

Very noble gesture from the biggest cheat the footballing world has ever known. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/world_cup_2010/8735592.stm

Made me laugh.

Don't know. I think I'd like to see a change from stripes for a while. Say 10-15 years.

When I was young I was dissuaded to do anything adventurous. The programming, from both my parents, was... What would you want to do that for..? I, or my siblings, were never, ever encouraged. It took me years to shake off that programming and actually start to do something out of the ordinary. Life is for living and experiencing. I'm not saying one shouldn't show concern, but the 13 year old Dutch girl, for example, was a very experienced sailor, even by adult standards, and she knew the ropes extremely well, having been on several voyages, with her parents and alone. If they thought she was capable, then she should have been allowed. You can't wrap capable people in cotton wool for 70 years.
