I was showing his stats in actual starts with us, his goals ratio is nearly a goal every 3 games and he does have a eye for a clever pass too. Im not trying to argue that his attitude isnt there or that he isnt injury prone,but i honestly feel like when he played fro m the start he did well and looked dangerous and creative. You have also got to remember its very difficult to just get 10 to 15 minutes at the end of the game and make an impression ,even top top draw players like falcao stuggle when just getting the odd start here and there and not getting a good run of games going. I really do think if gaston had a decent run as the am in our side he would put the likes of ward prouse to shame ,sadly it looks like this will never happen .

In 23 starts for saints gaston scored 7 and made 3 assists and you guys would really rather play ward prouse and Davis?

As for preventing young players joining, id say strong sides that will give youth a chance like ourselves or everton are still the best bet for young players, Would stones have looked so good and attracted interest from the big boys if he was playing in a weak relegation team or in the championship? Crazy team selection we need a goal and the team is packed out with players that never score or create like ward Prouse and Davis. No pace no width would have preferred to see long and Juanmi get played at least long offers energy and can score. Instead all we have is long balls launched to pelle for him to try and lay off to a bunch of players who will never score, And jay rod is nowhere near being the answer atm. This is the first time I feel really disappointed in koeman

I think most of them where bordering on fair deals but not incredible. When you think we shell out between 10-15 million a lot of times on players who are completely unproven in the premiership, the fees we have recieved have been for players who have now proved they can do a fantastic job in the premiership making the price more fair imo I think we got a good deal on shaw Lallana not so much considering he was one of the best attacking midfielders in the league that season Lovren was probably fair after the season he had for us and the fact we paid 8 million one season earlier,no hindsight included. My point is other teams like spurs liverpool everton etc, will want a lot more before they roll over and get there bellies tickled Stirlings season last year was far from vintage he had made it clear he didnt want to play for them ,yet liverpool stood strong didnt get screwed over by taking a silly fee and got a cracking deal. I think we could start by pushing for more extortionate prices for our players when a club does try to take them, Take the approach of if you want em pay up or F off. If you look at what Liverpool received for Stirling when they where not in a strong bargaining position, what Everton want for stones or to be extreme what Tottenham got for bale, I can't help thinking if any of those transfers was ours we would have caved in for 20-30 million and then heard the usual player wanted to go stuff spouted on here.

I don't think we will be buying an expensive midfielder when clasie has obviously been brought in for this reason. If we do bring in another as back up to clasie and vic it's unlikely to be a wow signing imo

Boom what a signing! So happy I've been hyping clasie to friends for over a year so great to see him sign, Really think clasie can turn into a amazing player he's got tenacity and superb deep playmaking skills. For the fee this is an amazing bit of business. ps best wishes to the feyenoord fans who seem a really nice bunch and have seemed to adopt saints as a second team.

Couldn't give a monkeys about Morgan leaving tbh, emotionally detached myself from him after his toys were thrown out of the pram last summer. I'm just happy that this is sorted now and we can go out and sign jordie clasie who has the potential to be a better player in my opinion

Thanks for the reply van hanegam and may I say it's great to have you and other Dutch fans taking a interest in saints and giving us valuable knowledge of the players you are so familiar with Have only seen van beek a couple of times myself so hard to judge but I do think he sounds exactly the type of player we would look at being young,Dutch with connections to Koeman and also being able to play the same positions as alderweirald. I will be making sure I watch loads of eridvisie this season and will take a big interest in feyenoord.
