who knows if he is the right man, didn't really consider him until he came on the radar. Let's all hope so. I would like him to be successful and the man that will bring us all together and stop the long slide of our club. COYR looking forward to good times

too many players missing cant remember mogan touching ball same as others

No, not at all but didn't really expect adkins either, far too much crowing and I am right messages.... but must be awful being right aaaaaaaaaall the time
-
sounds like we are talking ourselves into believing Adkins would be a good appointment. Not the name that I would choose if I was trying to get the team into the premiership in 3 - 4 years, maybe he will work ok and maybe he will not.... feels like a luggy type appointment to me, done well somewhere so will do well here

who is les read?? I though the reference to sir les was sir les patterson!! would fit with our club nicely

Most of the discussion and mood on here on a saturday is dictated by the result, so interesting comments about the type of footballl Howe would play. I am not sure there would not be much forgiveness if he had 3 or 4 losses on the trot, I don't think we would be hearing people say he is young and developing then. I think whoever comes in will be expected to hit the ground running and be able to deal with the huge expectation (rightly or wrongly) which has built up around this year. This is why most times the reduced risk of bringing in an experienced manager is the route clubs will take, and I think we will follow. Having spent time around a pro club in the past, there are no certainties and a lot of unknowns when somebody comes in. I have to say that I feel really confused on who I think could come in and deliver from the lists I have seen, and who I would really want. I have to say somebody like Dave Jones at Cardiff, loyal and gets the best out of his teams is the model we need.

Hesitant To Post This, But Me I'm Out Of Patience

Isn't our start to the season exactly the same as last year's? I guess we would expect more because the team has been together, because there is no -10, because we had a preseason etc. etc. so therefore feel disappointed more. Without starting on the -10 and with being named favourites will bring extra pressure which will effect the team. I do think that we have a slightly weaker squad this year (so far) and haven't really the benefit of a strong bench and unless we change this we shouldn't imagine that we will suddenly not have moments during the season like this again. so the question for me is... how good are the bunch that we have and if we don't get more in, can we / should we, really be expecting to get there if we get the injuries during the season we are bound to get?? -
walking in a guly wonderland or one guly guly, wev'e only got one guly guly

wouldn't boo and shout at him but just don't rate him. cant control a ball confuses himself about what he is going to do, occasional good cross, but more often than not hits their first man or ends up down blind alley by cutting inside doesn't hold position well so was causing Ricky to come out wide too often to collect the ball unproven as div 1 player so little potential imho

Southampton 1 - 1 Leyton Orient - Post match reaction
saint michael replied to Baj's topic in The Saints
the disappointing thing is that AP looked lost on how to change things to make a difference today. 12 players gone 3 in and no real game changers on the bench (connolly could be admitted). Expectation is greater and seems to be taking its toll. IF we are to move on we need to be able to put sides like LO away but didn't really belive we could even though hitting the bar may have hidden may have given the result we alla wanted. time and tide... good luck Alan -

sam Vokes season long loan -
agreed that we need to learn to set our own tempo and move a lot more than we did the other night, that will probably determine our success next year
-
I think he is saing that the tactics that Oldham played will be seen more and more next season and we will need to stay together and patient when we have these frustrating tactics against us, I dont think he is criticising just setting expectations

So who's received their wembley tickets in the post yet?
saint michael replied to saints_is_the_south's topic in The Saints
I ordered mine by post first morning and have them, but not where requested so think that telephone enquiries or big number enquries wanting to sit together has ben satisfied first -
So who's received their wembley tickets in the post yet?
saint michael replied to saints_is_the_south's topic in The Saints
I had same situation and was told very curtly by the ticket office that the highest priced tickets were over subscribed so everybody that did not get one of those was moved down to £44 priced ones and we were moved to £34 ones. He said that we would have to turn up at ticket office to have money put onto a card, not sure how they can do that if original was not paid by card but that was it... hope this helps -
I think it was somebody like stockport or bury that got kicked straight out no replay when they did the same against Chester city a few years ago so there is precedent on this
-
didn't we have a vote on where we thought we would finish and the majority thought mid table. I think that we have got to enjoy the stability of this year that we have been crying out for over the last three years, and will be in better shape for real go at it next season as a better team. I do think that AP needs to think about balance he seems to be trying to wok out who can do what and how they all fit in mix, it's a lot harder as a mgr when you have so much choice. stay with it, more frustration I am sure as our expectation grow.

I am afraid boys this change is going to take some time and balls to get us through this. I still think we haven't enough good players with winning mentality and steel who lift the side when things are not going so well. I didn't particularly like or want Pardew, and jury is still out on whether he is the right man, but changing now will not make things any better. This will take time and a lot more investment before we get to where we would all like to be. On a positive note I thought there were times last night where for the first time for years it looked like we had a team
