  1. Surely when we inevitably lose Pelle to a suspension, we'd stick Long up the top? Or even Mayuka who is doing enough to make the bench. Shame Gallagher isn't fit, but maybe that is one area we will strengthen in Jan?
  2. Enjoyed the "staying up" season we had with him and he came across as a decent bloke! So a bit harsh, Mr Lowe.
  3. Likewise. C*nt. (Him, not you)
  4. It feels weird watching Saints manage to pull off these really hard fought wins, 2x Stoke and against Hull today - they are all matches we would have lost by the reverse score a few years ago. The difference is that I really do think the coaching staff are flipping brilliant and able to react and make the right changes at the right times. If we keep winning against these sides, in matches we WOULD have lost before, then we can afford to get a draw or even lose against the "top sides". But f**k that, I honestly feel we could turn most teams over now and if the players feel that, coupled with excellent tactical awareness ... what a season this could be. I hope I don't regret typing this in May but, this feels special this year, much much more so than last year where we inevitably got undone by a shallow squad, worse tactics and players with their heads in Liver-f**king-pool ... Plus, we're Saints, we lose 7-1 at Everton or Spurs once a season. We don't dish out 8-0 thrashings and grind out 1-0s with an outrageous number of clean sheets ........
  5. Was sat up in the Chapel watching him look horrendous in his number 7 shirt, was it against Everton?
  6. Do be quiet.
  7. Computer says nooooo zzzzzzzz
  8. It is a ridiculous rule, if the player wants to celebrate with the fans near the front, he should. But no, let's clamp down on spontaneous celebrations and be really f**king boring.
  9. I was about to jump all over your post, like a fat-tongued tw*t when I saw "same team as Stoke" and rant about Bertrand and the other defender (can't even be ar$ed to spell his name). But then I saw "at home" and thought that yes, I agree with you. So I agree.
  10. The Johnson's Paint Trophy, we won it one time ...
  11. Maybe because you haven't see us win a major cup? Jesus.
  12. Yes, but I do think the problem with these clubs paying ridiculous salaries is that they HAVE to progress in the Champions League to fund the players, not just qualify, but progress. So you could have the best youth set up in the world, but unless you're willing to throw them in games and allow them to get game time, they won't progress and will be sold to lower league clubs and then never live up to potential. I always look at clubs like Man City and think they are too scared to put youngsters in. At least Liverpool played Flanagan last year, but they seemed to have replaced him now. I think with Saints, we're never going to be a huge club, but I quite like that and I like the fact that we DO bring through very well grounded, decent young players. I think Barcelona got a bit lucky with their amazing crop of talent under Pep, much like the Ajax team of the mid-90s (or was it early 90s), that contained a shed load of players who went on to be superstars. But I like what we're doing and if we do get the odd foray into Europe, as long as we don't start paying silly money like Man City, then hopefully we'll continue to see decent young players come into the team, some of which will stay, some be sold for lots of cash, so we see the next lot ... Good article though!
  13. Agreed. Although I'd like both ...
  14. That'll do, more interesting than a premier league team or a home draw!
  15. http://www.theguardian.com/news/datablog/2011/oct/18/world-leader-heights-tall I was surprised, must be his body shape or the way he holds himself as he looks like he'd be shorter.
  16. God, it's laughable. Well it would be if it wasn't so sad.
  17. I honestly don't understand the point of this, what am I missing? If I want to listen to a couple of blokes talking about football, I'll go for a few pints and do it. I know I'm a miserable git, but I honestly don't understand it at all.
  18. Some serious over analysis on this forum. Part of me wants to but part of me is entertained by how absolutely stark raving bonkers you all are!
  19. This - he's in the biggest shop window in world football right now! Would love him to sign, but I expect him to end up at Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool next summer - all of whom need a quality centre back and all of whom have more pulling power and financial muscle than us. Hopefully I'll be wrong though.
  20. That was worthy of a - made me smile anyway!!
