  1. Ta, obviously on it's way then.
  2. Too early in the morning for popcorn and a beer.. Incidentally... I haven't received mine yet; when do they get sent out?
  3. You often talk rubbish, but I'm inclined to agree with you there. ;-)
  4. I'm sure that's been the case in previous years too: it's most odd, as if they're embarassed to have fans there. I've only been to one foreign pre-season game when I was living nearby, and the best bet has always been to check the other clubs' websites. I hope somebody from the club is reading this..
  5. Which team, the one who played first yesterday, or the one who played the second game?
  6. Boys, Boys.. Or should that be boysh, boysh...?
  7. We appreciate the comments of both van Hanegem and Twente: always good to see a good footballing rivalry. :-)
  8. Thanks for that analysis. I don't think he's been bought as a first teamer. We're quite used to limited, non-ball playing defenders in the premiership; as long as he does the basics OK!
  9. I don't think I've ever heard a more inane or innaccurate commentator! The second game was somewhat c**p, and a lot of the old reliables were obviously not match fit, which is hardly surprising dear drama queens, in that that was their first pre-season game and the other leagues playing start earlier than us. Our midfield looked very lightweight, which is not to say that some of them would not be OK slotted in to a stronger team structure, but let's face it, we played two teams of approximately similar strengths. Our finishing still needs work..
  10. Can hear OWTSGMI!
  11. It's sad, but I've got that date in my diary! Also contacted friends in Cyprus and Italy just in case! Ooh, Bordeaux - hmm, just thought about someone else, 2 hours away..
  12. Now I shan't bother going to Azerbijan in the Europa.
  13. That's an unusual **** pot, assuming that's really theirs to **** in.
  14. A shareholder? Ah, sorry, just twigged, a donator of £1000, and it looks like he's got a bigger return for his money than most of the fans with a personal visit to the ground.
  15. A useful exercise and learning experience, and a difficult first game against a team 2 weeks ahead of us in their preparation: we normally start off with pretty minor teams as our warm up games. The midfield did look lightweight in a physical sense although McQueen looks solid enough. Good to see J-Rod scoring, particularly the movement for the second. Defensively the lack of experience showed, and nobody really took control. Plenty of material for the video analysts..
  16. Come on Andy and Alpine: we can't hear you!
  17. Well done that man! Just got in to see us take the ball out of our net and then equalise.
  18. The pitch looks a lot better than the public rec pitches I play on, assuming it's the one in the piccy on this thread. The turf looks pretty lush and thick actually.
  19. Looks like we're going to have to rely on Andy Durman and Alpine!
  20. .. and the right sex! Mind you, Southampton Ladies were a top team in their day. I'd like to see that again...
  21. Rallyboy.. either you, or I, or both of us have obscene imaginations. I'd rather you hadn't said that...
  22. We still need cover for the extra Europa cup games (loads of them obviously ;-) ) and for at least the early English cup rounds, and young defenders often take longer to mature so U21s may not be ready. This seems to be a very sensible purchase. Who'se the current reserve RB - Bevis Mugabe? Some promise but not really ready.(If he's LB the same principle applies..)
  23. Don't expect a receipt and you may have to pay direct to a Swiss bank account.
  24. Presumably they have cash flow problems? How surprising. I can't help thinking that a tenner would be a better price-point on so many levels and could well yield even more income. How much for kids?
